THE BAND'S OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEOS:

LIVE WIRE (1982) Was shot in 2 days, directed and produced by Motley Crue. Practically pictures the Crue's stage show at the time. Appeared on MTV for a very short time before being taken off the air by Bob Kraznow, the new head of Electra, who found it 'embarrassing'. The higlights of the video, as well as of their live show of the era is Vince setting Nikki's pants on fire and Mick spitting out blood |

LOOKS THAT KILL (1983) Also shot in two days, with director Marcello Epstein. Inspired by movies "Mad Max: Road Warrior" and "Escape From New York", this video depicts the desolate debacle of civilization. Later the style was called 'post-nuclear'. Motley Crue versus a bunch of chicks in rags plus some blck magic. In fact, that's my very favorite Motley video. |

TOO YOUNG TO FALL IN LOVE (1984) This video was shot in New York, in an abandoned train tunnel under a 12th Ave warehouse which was set up so as to present a 20s-style China street. They used 6 sets and 15 actors, including a 13-year-old Michelle Yeoh (the main heroine). As for the plot of the video, even Nikki doesn't fully understand what it's supposed to mean, adding that it 'makes him laugh'. But it looks good and has some elements of oriental martial arts, which later inspired Vince to take up karate. |

SMOKIN' IN THE BOYS ROOM (1985) The video was shot at Woodland Hills High School in the San Fernando Valley, CA. The dude who plays Principal is Michael Barryman (One Flight Over The Cuckoo's Nest). A guy's homework is stolen by Infernal Dog, so his teacher sends him to the principal. After the brainwashing session the guy chills at the boys' room, wishing somebody saw the things his way. Motley Crue appear in the Mirror and the dude experiences "Thru The Looking Glass And Back Pt.II" This was the song I sang at my school leavin' party. This vid and the next 6 were done by a professional team of Wayne Isham and Curt Marvis. |

HOME SWEET HOME (1985) A compilation of various footage from live shows from Theatre tour, mostly in Houston and Amarillo, plus a sequence shot especially for the video in Dallas, Texas. Nikki was fried on the set, talking to imaginary people and stuff. The video became the most requested video in MTV's history and even forced the channel to change the request line rules and set an expiration date after which a video couldn't be requested. Otherwise we'd still be watching it, I guess. I wouldn't mind that. |

GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS (1987) Yeah, right, if you have a screenshot for this, please share. Anyways, this video was shot at various tittie bars of Sunset Strip and features A LOT OF VERY HOT CHICKS! As well as Motley Crue and four Harleys. One of the chicks dancing is Vince's then future wife Sharise, a former mudwrestler from Tropicana. After MTV refused to air the original version with topless girls, another cut was made. The uncensored variant was later available on "Decade Of Decadence" video compilation. That's my brother's favorite video - Vik's so predictable... |

WILD SIDE (1987) A kind of a live video - that is, live footage is mixed with the studio version of the song. The footage was shot during a show in Indianapolis, Vince informing the crowd they were going to film. |

YOU'RE ALL I NEED (1987) Yep, no pic here either. But the vid is REAL good. A guy has just killed his girlfriend, and the video depicts his outlook on the situation and his feelings about it. Very tastefully shot, psychologically neat, icludes almost no graphical violence... and still banned from MTV and almost all other channels as "too strong". Also appeared on Decade Of Decadence with a warning about contents and the excuse that read, "But then, who ever said six-o'clock news was pretty?". |

DR. FEELGOOD (1989) Was shot in an aeroplan hangar in Pomona that the Crue called The Evil Tent, saying it was their own version of Hell. There are two cuts of the video: American, depicting the rise and the fall of a drug pusher, and English, which includes the hangar footage only. Motley Crue in flames - looks like they belong, huh? |

KICKSTART MY HEART (1989) Another 'kinda-live'. Shot at the Whisky on the 5th of October, 1989, where the Crue played their first club gig in years under the pseudonym "The Foreskins". The video also captures their arrival at the venue in a vintage ambulance car piloted by Sam Kinison! |

WITHOUT YOU (1990) A pretty surreal video. Pretty and surreal, that is. Full of symbols, too. Your only chance to see Motley Crue clean and romantic. Was filmed at Galveston Opera House in Texas, directed by Blanche White and produced by Sharon Oreck (you kind of can see that it was done by chicks...) Features a leopard called Czar from "The Exotic Cat Refuge And Wildlife Orphanage". Was 1989's Most Requested Video. |

DON'T GO AWAY MAD (JUST GO AWAY) (1990) Another one done by The Chick Team. Vince wakes up alone, apparently left by his girlfriend, stays sad for a while, then takes a plane to LA and catches up with his buddies at the studio - the girl trouble is forgotten. A great message. A good video, was my favorite for a while. |

SAME OL' SITUATION (1990) And another 'kinda-live'. The Crue abandoned the Chicks (predictably) and returned to Wayne and Curt. The video was shot at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Wisconsin and Pine Knob Music Theatre in Detroit. Also features the Crue's arrival to one of the arenas in a helicopter - Vince took interest in flying and took piloting lessons after that. |

PRIMAL SCREAM (1991) A vid with a vibe. Motley Crue plus shadows, chains, animals and fire. Was shot in 3 hours - kinda fast, huh? Ladies, Vince is very sexy here. |

ANARCHY IN THE UK (1991) A compilation of footage from Donnington Monsters Of Rock '91, onstage and offstage, and the Crue's famous concert in the Marquee Club. Gets really punky at times. Note the banner in the audience, reading, "Vince, you'll kick Axl's ass!" and Vinnie's anti-Axl T-shirt!

HOME SWEET HOME '91 (1991) A new version, a new video. While you'll really have to listen hard to spot the difference between the audio tracks, this vid is very different from its predecessor. It shows different people involved in their everyday activities - from and oldman to young rocker/punk dudes, and together with the message of the song, it is pretty touching. |

HOOLIGAN'S HOLIDAY (1994) Yet another OOPS! and a big one, because I never ever saw the video, and, therefore, can't tell you what's it all about. |
![]() |
AFRAID (1997) A rather dark video. Motley Crue play inside a skirt of a legless bald chick. Well, that's oversimplifying it, of course, but that's the essence. The last sequences feature Larry Flynt, yep, that very Larry, the publisher of Hustler Magazine!!! |

ENSLAVED (1998) Yet another BIIIIIG OOPS!, dude. I'm sorry. |

HELL ON HIGH HEELS (2000) Beware Homicidal Hookers!!! The one in this video demolished a caveman, Caligula, Mr. Prezzident, a trooper and Motley Crue's whole line-up! That last achievement makes her SUPER-dangerous! If serious, it's a hilarious cartoon done by Camp Chaos (remember Napster Good Metallica Bad toonies?), and it rocks!!! You can watch a flash version of it if you click on the pic of Mick to the left. |
There are also videos for "Smoke The Sky", "Misunderstood" and the early self-made promos for "Take Me To The Top" and "Public Enemy #1" - they are all included into "Greatest Video Hits" tracklist, so go and fucking buy it! It was voted the Best Home Video of 2003 on Metal Sludge, by the way. Yeah, if you don't like it, don't throw it away, better send me a copy... *sighs*
