SAN PABLO MAJOR SEMINARY
School of Philosophy
San Pablo Seminary is a scholastic institution for COLLEGE students aspiring for the diocesan priesthood.  As a SEMINARY, it is guided by the Norms of the II Vatican Council and the Philippine adaptation for the Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis.  It serves as a formation house for priests in "exacting study, orderly discipline, and continuous prayer",  As SCHOOL, effective June 13, 1978, it was given Philippine Government recognition no. 107 s. 1978 to grant a four-year Liberal Arts Course, majoring in Philosophy, and leading to the Civil Degree of Bachelor of Arts (AB).

In January 26, 1987 the second half of the four-year curriculum centered on philosophical studies, was elevated to a pontifical status, by its being affiliated to the Faculty of the Pontificial Urbanian University in Rome, with the approval of the sacred Congregation for Catholic Education declared in Prot. No. 181/87.  By virtue of this affiliation the two-year course of Philosophy of San Pablo Seminary follows the scholastic norms of that University, is supervised by it, and through it the Ecclesiastical Degree of Bachelor of Philosophy (Ph.B.) is granted to deserving graduates, in addition to the Government's A.B. civil degree.
