There you stand
one last time
to be betrayed by a friend
a trust is broken
does money really come first?
before You?
before life?
now you walk with enemies at Your sides
hate, despise and anger come down
pound upon you by those you loved
There sits the cross
that judgment a mercy built
the wrath of both heaven and earth lay upon its boards
tears of the Father fall from heaven
His judgment, anger, disgust and wrath
come down upon His son
His perfect, holy and sinless son
Why is all this pain thrown on you?
Why you?
perfect, holy and sinless
there you stay
the blood shed from your body
there you now die among criminals
you the king of the kings now crowned with thorns
your life taken from within you
then placed in a tomb
the sun and moon dance around the earth
your life returns to His body
you walked from the tomb
left the grave and conquered death
you walked and lived again
they came to you
walked with you
touched your wounds
the Father called to you
you ascended to heaven
to live with our Father forever
we now live with you,
your light, your blood
you are always in our hearts
you shed your blood for us
you gave your life, conquered the grave
so we may live eternally
you are the son of God
you are Jesus Christ

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.   James 1:12
