Forgive Me

I hurt you, and I'm sorry
That was never my intent
Just poor communication
You didn't know what I meant
I never meant to hurt you
You are very dear to me
Now I beg your forgiveness
And I hope that you can see
That your interpretation
Of my words was not my own
Though I explained them poorly
And brought this whole quarrel on
I ask you, please forgive me
For my heart hurts with your pain
And I will do my utmost
Never to hurt you again

Cliches IV

A walk in the park
A day at the beach
Cute as a button
Pretty as a peach
You light up my life
I'm walking on air
Just breezing through life
With never a care
Since being with you
My life's a cliche
But then again, that's
A small price to pay

Vengeance Desired

I understand what you wanted
I'll never understand why
You held the whole world in your hands
Why'd you have to make her cry
Just what was so very tempting
That you just couldn't stay true
She is what every man dreams of
And she was in love with you
Her trust in you was so misplaced
Though no one could tell her so
She believed in you completely
And now, you have layed her low
She'd crushed beneath the hurt she feels
Her innocence is shattered
Her whole world revolved around you
And you were all that mattered
Her naivete was so precious
She is truly a jewel
How could you betray her like this
How could you be so cruel
There was a time I called you friend
But that time is in the past
I've nothing but contempt for you
You're vile and selfish and crass
I hope Prince Charming comes her way
And treats her just like a queen
And I hope that ill dogs your steps
And trouble strips you clean

Go Away

You look at me, and say you see
So deep into my soul
Yet you don't fear what you find there
You really should, you know
I have hurt so many people
And never once looked back
My reputation is well earned
It's well deserved, the flak
So turn around, and walk away
Right now, while you still can
For if you stay, you'll just get hurt
And that's not in my plan
You are far too good a person
To tie yourself to me
So go away, get out of here
Just go, and let me be

Predators

What is this thing we have between us
Attraction, temptation or lust
There is no way that it could be love
For there is not an ounce of trust
Yet you invade my thoughts constantly
You inhabit my dreams at night
And whenever we're in the same room
You remain in my line of sight
This is a game of the predator
We're both champions in the sport
Pursue, overcome and then discard
We're not looking for a consort
It's the thrill of the hunt that lures us
The more difficult, the better
And the supreme test of mastery
Is the two of us, together
But one of us would have to concede
Supremacy to the other
And I do not see that happening
It's much too fun fo discover
Just how far we are willing to go
To bring the other to their knees
The contest is far too exciting
For neither will give up with ease
We are both enticed by the notion
Totally commited to win
And the spoils will go to the victor
Then we'll be on the prowl again
Out Of My Hands

How did you do it?
Tell me, how did you get in
I spent a lifetime building barriers
And you walked right through them
As if they weren't even there
The day I met you, you claimed my heart
And I never realized it was at stake
I never even had the chance to fight
There was no opportunity to run
And I would have, I always did
I've never willingly let anyone close
But I will be eternally grateful
That you didin't give me a choice
