| Not That Kind Of Woman Anything I wanted I had but to ask And you bought it for me With no strings attached The price didn't matter Expensive, or not Whatever I wanted Well, that's what I got But the thing most desired By my lonely heart Was just time spent with you Instead of apart The material things Just didn't compare To the absolute thrill Of having you there I know, to your thinking You were showing love By buying all those things But, heaven above! I'd gladly have traded Anything you bought For your companionship But you were so caught Up in your little world You didn't have time You were willing to spare And I found that I'm Not the kind of woman Who can be content With material things Or money spent I need to be cherished Loved and cuddled, too Things that I will never Receive from you You never did get it Though I really tried To show you I needed You there by my side So, I'm leaving today You can keep the "things" They cannot keep me warm Or make my heart sing But someone out there will And I will find them And they'll fulfil the need That you were blind to Copyright 4/22/2001 Terri Lyn Stanfield All Rights Reserved |
| I Wish I Could Stay A beautiful morning A perfect day That is what it would be If I could stay Laying here in your arms Warm and sated The almighty dollar Is overrated I'd much rather stay here Than go to work But we've got bills to pay And I can't shirk Responsibilities Though I'd like to And just spend the whole day Right here with you But I should get ready And start my day Though I'd give anything If I could stay The whole time I am gone I'll be wanting To get back home to you Though it's daunting To have to leave your arms I'll be home soon And I will hold you tight Until the moon Once more takes its exit From the night sky And the day dawns again Then once more I Will force myself to leave To do my duty Wanting only to stay With my beauty Copyright 4/22/2001Terri Lyn Stanfield All Rights Reserved |
