Scott's musical background made him a natural in the studio, having been raised in a musical family, where his musical training began on the piano, at
the age of six. Scott played trumpet and double bass in school, and started playing the drums at age sixteen. He played drums and sang professionally
for many years with a variety of Rock and Country groups. He also worked as a disk jockey for three years in the mid-west, before moving to
California. He pursued a musical career on the west coast for a short time and performed as a drummer with "Dick Dale and the Del Tones," before
joining the Riverside Police Department.
Once Cops in Concert got rolling, Scott formed his own music production and publishing company, called “Criminal Records Studios” (Now CRS Productions)
where he produced two singles and two albums for the group. The first album, titled “First Offense”,
featured several songs from the groups stage show, along with originals by Dave Stewart, the groups lead guitarist. The first
album also includes “Say No”, an anti-drug song, which was written by Dave and Scott.
The latest album features the title song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” as a musical
memorial to all Police Officers killed in the line of duty.
