This page is sort of a dedication to the crew of the WDTR-01. The job WDTR-01 was eliminated June 1, 1999, and the crew members were bumped elswhere. Now, the only local out of Trenton, is the Morning Local Trenton 3 (WDTR-01), while Trenton 1 was the afternoon shift. NS is to blame for the job's elimination because NS screwed up, and Downriver businesses don't like the "thouroughbred" any more than I do. You can thank NS for diverting more traffic to truck (average 12 60' boxcars a day, about 40 trucks) and eliminating many jobs to where the younger employees were laid off. Thanks NS, thanks a lot |

This was the crew of local WDTR-01 up until its June 1, 1999 elimination. On the left, is Kenny (last name not known) He is a conductor, but was bumped to Monroe's YDMN-30. Where is he now? I haven't got the slightest clue. I think, however, he is still working for CR. Center: Russel R. Hayes. Started working on the Railroad for the New York Central, over 30 years ago, as a conductor. Was stationed in Paris during the Vietnam war in the Air Force, and because of that, he was never in battle! Planned on retiring in September 1999, but after being bumped of the trenton job in June 1999, had a slip and fall accident while working on local YDRR-23 at River Rouge. Although he is no longer able to work, he is going to retire in December 2000. He then plans on moving out to Arizona, with the rest of his family. On the right is Tim (last name unknown, but I think it is something like Degg) As the engineer on the Trenton 1 until June 1, 1999, he went to River Rouge to work YDRR-40, which he is still working on at this date. |
