Conrail's Signal Upgrade
Changes for the Downriver Area!
Read Conrail's Daily Bulletin for Jan 30, 2002
Here are a couple views of the New Wyandotte DEDAC, both taken at different stages of progress, with the picture at top being the newest showing the Axle Counting equipment.
NEW: 03-12-2002

The NEW DEDAC is being installed now. It should be up and running tomorrowm (3-13). It announces:

"Conrail Equipment Defect Detector Wyandotte MI. Track X no defects. Speed XX Total Axles XXX over! "

The time for waiting is over. The new DEDAC is here! The old one will be decomissioned upon installation of the new one (good thing too, as the old one is about to kick the bucket now anyway!

Future Conrail Signals D111S and D112N wait ready to be "cut-over" to service at M.P.11.1 on the Conrail ("Shared Assets") Detroit Line.  The signals ARE approach lit, meaning they will not come on until a train hits the adjacent circuits.

With the completion of this project, Conrail will be basically set for quite a few years, after having new ties and ballast layed in during the summer of 2001, where about 80% of all of the ties were replaced!

Now that's Conrail Quality!
