On this overcast Spring Morning, and a day that would not cease raining, I caught NS 12n, STPI, coming south accross the Huron River Bridge, on the Southbound main track (track one) The Rockwood Detector was going off at the time of this shooting, and I did record it, so if you go to the main page and slick on NS detecotr m.p.22.3 with STPI, you'll hear this train, in the photo!! During May, Amtrak decided to continue running trains from Toledo to Detroit, trains 350 (south) and returning as 355 to go north. But before they could resume this service, Amtrak was running up to 6 test trains a day, non-stop North and south. No regular freight trains were disprupted from service (NS barely runs any trains at all anymore) But here, we see the Amtrak Test Train, with engine AMT 518 north, over the Huron River bridhe, on track two. This bridge is quite different than the bridge on the southbound |

While these pictures are not as scenic as the others, these still have a lot to say. right: NS 48e was stopped here, at North Huron River Drive due to debris accross the track. He had a CR unit. in fact all of the units in the Consist were PRR (Conrail units)! BOTTOM:It was taken off of North Huron river road in Rockwood. This train just passed the Calgon detector (track 2), and has a solid consist of former Conrail engines, including a blue one in the lead. This is train ELST (48e) in May, 2000 |
