Conrail Milwaukee Junction Tower Photographs     ALL TAKEN DURING SUMMER 1999

This is a pic of Milwaukee Jct.'s interlocker board on the back wall of the tower The tower has been closed since February 2000, but about 3 weeks before the tower was shut down permanantly, tower controls were converted from the board in the photo, and the levers, to a nice little control box, and the Levers, out of service. Too bad I was unable to make it out there in its last days to take a picture of it!

This is a East side view of Milwaukee Junction tower. The White car in the background, belongs to Steve C. Bueherle. The (former) swing shift tower operator. He is second on the list of seniority, and now works days at the Bridge!

This is another view from the East side, looking west. I am standing where a track used to be. The Track in front of me, with the GTW train is the beginning of the Holly Subdivision. The track to the right that is GTW is the beginning of the Mt Clemens Sub, and BOC yard. The GTW track going left, is the Shoreline Sub's end. The Conrail Main tracks also go right to left (North and South) and is the North Yard the signal in the picture, was removed when resignalling occured before the tower's close. Branch. Note the 45' tall antenna tower!

This is the only good shot of a train at Milwaukee Jct I have. Train Q304 at about 2:30p.m. Northbound for North Yard and Sterling Yard!
