CONRAIL RIVER ROUGE DRAWBRIDGE.
(BRIDGE TOWER)

Conrail "BRIDGE" tower is located in Detroit, while the bridge spans Detroit to River Rouge. It is a bascular type bridge, and its future seems secure forever!
All pictures taken on July 3, 2000, so at this time (July 12, they are new!)

This veiw of Conrail's "BRIDGE" tower (m.p.6.4 on the Detroit line) was taken on the South side of the building. Notice the big counter weight blocking part of the tower.

The tower looks dwarfed by the humoungus Counter Balances of the Bridge itsellf. This is a veiw of the North side of the building

Here is another view from the North end of the bridge.

Train 49e, STEL, is now entering River Rouge, and is almost to CP-YD and the Start of River Rouge yard for a pick-up and a set-out. Too bad the locomotive had to be a lousy NS diesel. I really wish that the GP38-2 was leading!
