As said on the previous page, Poppy is a very peculiar color, she changes color from season to season from being a bright orange as above to a brown, having dark points to dapples and even sometimes having silver flecks through her dark points and face. As you can see below she was born a straight chestnut with white frosting around her muzzle and down her legs though as the months went on her mane and tail grew black growth instead of chestnut and she became darker . It was all a bit of a mystery! We came to the conclussion that she must be some kind of a buckskin.

This is a photo of her Dam, she also changed colors from season to season from being a beautiful buckskin like above in the Summer to a bay colored horse in the Winter. Her Sire was a brown colored pony though had a very strong chestnut gene.
