Remember
Remember
–
Looking
in his eyes
That
once you loved him
Once
he filled your heart and mind
And
every moment’s thoughts were off him.
But
the road goes ever on
Through
valley, hill and wood
Leaving
now behind
The
crumbling garden wall
Discarded
treasure still
In
your heart once enflamed
A
love that went unnamed.
A
name that now unloved
In
your palm beats still.
Remember
–
That
another
Living
soul and mind
Is
bond unto that heart
And
pain you though it may
Release,
and let it go -
No
kindness can be found
In
the prison of your love
When
the fires all burn low
And
creeping winter snow
Turns
promises and vows
To
ice upon your tongue.
