| The Shire of Crossrode Keep Presents Sundered Shield VII |

The Shire of Crossrode Keep is proud to host Sundered Shield VII. Site opens at 4 p.m. on Friday June 29th and Closes at Noon on July 1st. Planned Activities: * Chivalric Tourney: format is best 2 out of 3 death, Swiss Five. The weapon styles for this tourney include: Pole Weapon, Great Weapon, Single Sword, Sword & Shield, and Florientine Swords. A Snowball Melee is also planned * Rapier Tourney: format is to be Determined depending on the number of entrants. * Archery Competition: This will be an Ansteorran Royal Round. * Knife, Axe and Spear Competition: This competitiont is being hosted by Lord Byron * A&S Competition: Open theme, no documentation required. Judges to be determined. * Bardic Competition: Two pieces, (Song, Poem or Story). Judges to be determined. --- The Shire of Crossrode Keep requests that all entrants in the Chivalric, Rapier, and Archery Competitions to please bring their Honor Shields (8" by 10"), so that they may be proudly displayed during these competitions. --- We are also planning on having a series of A&S Classes to be held throughout the day. Planned classes at this time inlcude: * Weaving 101 * Period Beading * Lucet Braiding * Knitting * Bardic 101 * Archery Range Safety, & Range Management There will also be a free side board luncheon and a free spaghetti supper served on Saturday. evening under the Large Metal Pavilion. Please provide your own tables and chairs. The site is at Lake Sweetwater Campgrounds, in Sweetwater Texas. (The Gothic War Site) This site has several electrical outlets, potable water and flush toilets. As well as plenty of shade trees for you to set your encampment underneath. Site Rules: * Site is wet in period containers only. No one under 21 is permitted to consume alcohol. * Ground Fires will be permitted as will Tikki Torches and Lanterns. Provided that there is Fire Extinguishers nearby, and no Burn Ban is in effect at time of event. Please check with the Event Steward when on site to verify status of Burn Ban. * Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21-year or older adult with a signed Minor Event Waiver Form. (This form may be downloaded here in *.PDF format.) * Pets are welcome provided that the owners have a current rabies certificate for each pet and the animal is on a leash or kennel. * Merchants are welcome as always to our events, and we do not require a Merchanting Fee for you to display your wares. Directions to the Site: Take your best route to Sweetwater, Texas on I-20, and take Exit #249 (approximately 9 miles east of the City of Sweetwater. Go south at the stop signs and continue until the road forks. Take the left fork (FM 2035). Site is approximately 1 mile down the road on your right. (Or you can just follow the SCA signs which will be set up from the stop signs to the entrance to the site.) Site Fees: Adults (18 and over): $12.00 Children (5-17): $6.00 (5 and under): Free A Family Cap of $36.00 is in effect for this event.
