CABARET!

The first performance of our new cabaret show “I Love the Smell of Pasta in the Evening” was a roaring success. People were still laughing, humming, and smiling hours later.

The show interwove performances by the chorus, a gospel trio, quartet “What Four?”, and comic interludes by the Antipasto Players.

The Briarwood UMC hall was temporarily transformed into an Italian ristorante. THANKS, BUMC!!

Sharon was already in character as Sophia as she prepared to go onstage. Regina played “Alice” and Pat played “Maria”. “Rhonda” the police officer was played by our own “D” Ulmer, but she was escorting “felons” offstage so fast we didn't get a good picture. On the right, Terre and her sisters, the gospel trio “Coming Home” check pitch in the wings.

Backstage, a world of work was done in the kitchen by chef Barry Male, and a whole team of great friends and relatives, cooking and serving a great spaghetti supper. Their efforts really made the cabaret work. Many of them were running around serving plates so fast they evaded the camera, but some of them were trapped in the kitchen!
