Co.K, 7th Kentucky Infy. Regt.  "Crossland's Rifles"
Welcome to the new online home of Company K of the 7th Kentucky Infantry Regiment (CS).  We are a small but dedicated and growing group of living historians portraying a Confederate infantry company in the Western Theatre of the War Between the States.

The time we spend on research, the money we spend on our equipment, and the effort we expend on striving for a constant improvement in our overall impressions as Civil War soldiers, are all oriented toward our primary goals as living historians--

1. To educate the public about all aspects (not simply combat) of the average infantryman's day-to-day existence during this painful, pivotal time in the history of a great nation.

2. To inspire interest among others in this period of America's history and call attention to the importance of preserving both the places where brother strove mightily against brother and the history of those struggles.

3. To make an honest, humble effort to adequately honor the memory of a great man who nobly sacrificed much in the service of a cause he felt to be just--

The common soldier.

The motto on the State Seal was one of the sad ironies of the Civil War in the border states like Kentucky.
