| Ale- The Gorean ale, is more of a consistency of a honey lager, then an ale or beer from earth. It is golden in color and made with Gorean hops. Often, it is served in a goblet or tankard. Bazi Tea- An herbal tea, much like earth tea, it is served in three tiny cups, and it is heavily sugared. There is no ceremony related to the bazi tea drink, however, some prefer it served in this manner. Black Wine- Once imported, the traditional coffee bean came from earth, on voyages of acquisition. The now domesticated bean, is grown in the city of Thentis. Mead- A strong Gorean drink, much like ale, however it is thicker in consistency. It is brewed of honey, and is very sweet. It is usually drunk out of large horns or tankards. Paga- Paga is a very strong and acrid to the taste and smell. It is served either hot in a footed bowl or chilled from bottles into a goblet. The grains, sa-tarna, are used in making of this beverage. Sul Paga- A very strong and potent drink. It is very similar to the Vodka of earth. It is distilled, and comes out like water. Sul paga has very strong fumes that emanate from it. This drink is not for the feint of heart. Water- Spring water from the mountains, or from the rain forests of Shendi, is stored in the cool room, usually in bottles or skins. Ka-la-na- A sweet, dry and very potent wine that is made from the fruit of the ka-la-na tree of which is native to the city of Ar. It is traditionally served from a bota at the furs, and poured into a goblet. Kalda- This drink is served hot, and is made from ka-la-na, mixed juices, such as tospit and larma. Mulling spices are then added as it is heated in a copper kettle. Kalda is served in clay bowls. Ta Wine- Ta Wine is a smooth fine wine, made from the ta grapes of Cos. It is served at room temperature, or chilled. Like ka-la-na, it is brought to the furs in a bota, and is poured in a served in a goblet. Turian Wine- A very sweet and syrupy wine, made, and imported from the city of Turia. This wine is the most expensive, and is rarely drank except on special occasions. |
| Within the servery, you will find many different serving utensils. These range from tankards, mugs, various drinking horns, three-footed clay bowls, copper pots, ladles, serving trays, and knives. In serving a food or beverage, choose the correct utensil to serve the item. For instance, an alchaholic drink can not be served in a silver goblet, nor should Sul Paga be served in a tankard. The slaves may use knives; however, the intent must be to use them only on the food being prepared. Other uses of these knives will be considered as a weapon. Be creative in your serves, and use any utensil that is available. |
| Meats and poultry |
| Bosk- This is a large, cow like animal. It provides meat, milk, and hides. Bosk is usually roasted in a hearth, or an open pit. Tabuk- A one horned animal, much like the earth antelope. In the south, the tabuk is yellow, where as in the north the beast is much larger and yellowish-brown in color. Meat and hides are utilized from this animal. Tarsk- The tarsk is a six-tusked wild pig like animal. It comes from the temperate forests of Gor. The meat from this animal is served from an open pit, or roasted in the hearth, and is turned every hour to ensure it is evenly cooked. Verr- Much like the goat of earth, this animal produces milk for cheese, and can be harvested for its fervent meat. Vulo- Eggs, brains and meat are the product of this fowl. |
| There are various fruits and vegetables of Gor. To name a few, tospit, larma, ta-grapes, dates, onions, carrots, sul, katch, kess, and kort. There are many spices as well. Honey, nutmeg, peppers, garlic, salt and sugars. Breads include, black bread, sa-tarna, and biscuts. Fish, an imported item would include, eels, oysters, white grunt parsit fish, and Cosian wingfish. |
