| Students in the US are becoming more diverse and schools districts are seeking out foreing teachers who speak their native language. The latino population has increased over the last 10 years. Bilingual teachers are very needed in many parts of the US and Canada. By the year 2005, California, Texas amoong others will need aproximately 200,000 new teachers to alleviate shortage created by the class-size reduction implemented in elementary school across the US. At CCT we are concernig about the importance of bilingual education and the effectiveness of bilingual teachers. Our program is fully of activities with bilingual teachers who participate in Spanish lessons, extracurricular activities such see not just one but many other Mexican teacher from elementary school and hve the oportunity to talk to them and exchance ideas or sugestions for a better unsdertanding. between teachers and students.
