Bible Study:
Jesus Christ was a great man, that is unquestionable, but the life He lives, and certain parts of it get ignored.  He was a "social outcast," a person who has the greatest following on Earth, but never had a "home."  In Matthew 8:20, it says that the "Son of man has no place to lay his head." This is a showing that 1. He was not of this world, he was divine, and 2. that He had no home in a literal sense. Christ's family called Him insane, the "religous" people accused him of being possesed by the Devil. This doesn't sound like the happy life we sometimes see Jesus having. Christ was thrust into a world that He created to be perfect, but His creation messed it up. He lived a 'human existance' that was completely out of character. The idea of Christ being a Savior is great, but it can create such a seperation that we lose the fact that He was human. He felt the same rejection when Peter would make fun of him for his beliefs, he felt the pain in his heart that we would feel in normal situations. He felt the physical pain from having nine inch spikes hammered into his hands while an angry mob hissed and hollered.
In Micah 4:6,7 the Bible says that the Lord would "assemble the outcast..." and make them a "holy nation." This means that God wants the teenagers who aren't 'nomal.' The idea behind "hardcore" or "punk" is rebellion and standing firm for what YOU want to believe and not comforming them. Jesus stayed away from the "religous" people, He turned over the tables in the temple, and spoke against them! This generation is tired of religion, tired of hypocrisy, but we aren't making any steps to take care of it. God wants YOU to be part of a "holy nation," why aren't we living like it. In a world of "christian conformity" where Christians have to look a certain way to be christians. The very definition of the word "christian" is "christ-like." A generation-x needs to be just that, one who refuses to conform to the world, to the church, to anyone but Christ!

1. Make the decision to accept Christ for who He is.
2. Find out who you are in Christ.
3. Don't let anyone allow you to be less then what God has called you to be!
