The Senator’s Anniversary-by LilyB
The State
Senate adjourned at seven that evening and the young Senator from Stockton
breathed a sigh of relief. It had been a long day of arguments about the
proposed budget for the upcoming year and even when they had adjourned, the
matter had yet to be settled. He had hoped to be on a train first thing in the
morning, bound for home, but it wasn’t to be. The Senate would not adjourn for
its two-month respite until the budget had been completed.
He was beginning to lose hope that he would make it home by Friday and he had
promised his wife that he would be there. Their seventh wedding anniversary was
that Friday. Jarrod could hardly believe that seven years had passed since the
day they had married. It seemed like yesterday that Maggie had come to San Francisco
and broken down the walls around his heart once and for all. Seven years since
he had first made love to her and married her the very next morning.
The years flew by in a whirlwind, their son Thomas was born a year after their
marriage. Heath had married Maggie’s childhood friend from New Orleans and they
now had two sons. For the last two years Jarrod and Maggie had been trying to
have a baby, now they had all but given up on having a second child, content
with just the three of them. But Jarrod knew that Maggie wanted another child,
he could see it in her face. She’d be late by a few days and her hopes would
rise, only to have them squashed again.
Thomas was six years old now and though he was the spitting image of his
father, Jarrod wasn’t quite sure if he was pure Nick or Maggie on the inside.
Both his wife and his younger brother possessed the strongest of wills and
fiery personalities that often got them into clashes with one another. And
Thomas was just like them, strong willed and a little daredevil. Jarrod worried
over him constantly, one day he was sure that he would be gravely injured from
one of his antics.
Jarrod had drifted apart from Nick and if you asked either one why it had
happened, you’d get the same answer from both. ‘We just grew apart, that’s all.
We’re too different from one another.’ The truth went far deeper than that.
Nick had set his eyes upon Maggie the moment that he had met her, the very
first evening she had arrived in Stockton. She wasn’t the usual type of young
woman that he would go for, in the past he had always preferred the taller
voluptuous type and he did like the blondes. But Maggie was a petite young
woman, barely crossing the five-foot mark with bright red hair, emerald green
eyes and freckles across the bridge of her nose. He had been smitten with her
from the moment he saw her. There had been plenty of ladies in Nick’s life and
some would argue, that he gave his heart away too easily. But with Maggie it
had been different, even though she had made it quite clear that she didn’t
care for him the same way he cared for her, he had given her his heart and his
heart would never let go. Then Jarrod had met Maggie and that was it. It had
taken a while for Jarrod to come around, as it was only six months after the death
of Beth when he met Maggie Lanigan, but the two seemed destined to be together.
And it had broken Nick’s heart in two. There had been plenty of ladies since
then, but no one serious and at the age of thirty-five, he had yet to take a
wife. Jarrod knew in his heart that his younger brother was still in love with
his now wife and although he knew that Nick would never come between the two of
them, sometimes the tension was so thick that it could be cut with a knife.
Jarrod and Maggie were two very strikingly different people but it seemed to
serve them well as they balanced one another. One didn’t seem entirely complete
without the other. He was completely, totally and helplessly in love with
Maggie even more so now after seven years, then the day they had married.
As he walked back to his rented flat just two blocks from the Senate building,
he thought of her and how much he missed her. It had been a month since he’d
seen her last. While the Senate was in full session, Thomas had come down with
a fever and a bad cold that had taken almost two weeks for him to get rid of.
Jarrod had asked if he should come home, but Maggie’s return telegram had
insisted that everything would be fine and so he had stayed in Sacramento while
Maggie was at home nursing their sick son. He knew he wasn’t leaving her alone,
Heath and Sarah and his Mother he was sure would be a frequent visitor. At
least he always knew that Maggie was never alone, no matter how long he was
forced to be away from her and Thomas.
It was chilly and he bundled up his coat while he walked and he started to pass
the telegraph office, but he stopped and thought for a moment. Maggie’s last
letter had said that Thomas was fully recovered and he was back to his usual
antics and going riding with his Uncles Nick and Heath. If he couldn’t get
home, why not bring Maggie here? Only… His lips drew up into a smile and he
walked inside the telegraph office to wire Heath and Sarah, it was one of his
best ideas yet he thought to himself.
With the telegraph sent, he finished his walk to the hotel and ate dinner alone
in the hotel’s fine restaurant. Afterwards, he had a nice chat with the owner
and a rather exorbitant sum of money was exchanged. In three days, the owner
assured him, everything would be taken care of just as Senator Barkley had
requested.
Returning to his suite, he sat for a while in the outer room and mulled over
the discussions earlier at the Senate, his heart was elsewhere though. He went
to his bedroom and changed into his pajamas, crawling underneath the covers of
the large bed. The bed was luxurious with thick white feather pillows and it
was also empty, void of the beautiful young woman that was his wife. Jarrod was
closing in on forty now and Maggie had just turned twenty-six. He thought of her
small body, her slender legs, the small breasts that were just enough to cup in
his thick hands. They’d grown slightly fuller since she had nursed Thomas, but
they were still firm and he could spend a whole night just feasting on them. He
felt himself twitch at the thought. His thoughts drifted to the evening before
he’d left for Sacramento. He’d been working late at home and it was well after
midnight when he had fallen asleep on the sofa. It was the sensation of being
stroked through his slacks that opened his eyes, he so enjoyed it when his
vivacious wife took the lead in their lovemaking.
Maggie put on her husband’s dress shirt and crawled into bed. She always slept
in one of Jarrod’s shirts when he was away, it somehow made her feel closer to
him when she did. She was missing him a great deal, alone in bed at night was
the worst. The bed felt so empty without him. How she missed his curling up
behind her, his chest against her back, his arms wrapped around her and
stroking her stomach with his gentle hands. And the times that she would feel
his arousal pressed into her buttocks, his hands searching out her tender
rosebuds and the hot wanting kisses on her neck. “Jarrod.” Maggie hugged her
pillow close and tried to find some sleep.
Thomas waited outside the schoolhouse to be picked up and he was as pleased as
could be when he saw his Uncle Heath stop his carriage in front of him. “Uncle
Heath!” The little boy, in his first year of school, ran to the carriage. With
some help from his uncle, he climbed aboard and sat up as straight as he could
next to him. “Whatcha doing here?”
“Well I had to come into town so I told your Mother that I’d be more than happy
to come get ya after school. So how was it today kiddo?”
“Oh it was great Uncle Heath! Andy dipped Carol’s curls into the inkwell and
she cried the whole morning. Then Billy and Andy got into a fight at lunch and
they were rolling all over the place. Then Miss Harrison tried to stop them,
only they rolled into a mud puddle and Miss Harrison got mud all over her dress
and she made them both sit in the corner all afternoon, cepting they started
fighting again and she had to make them sit in opposite corners of the room.”
“Uhhh, did ya manage to get any learning in today Thomas?”
“Oh yeah, we’re having a test tomorrow on the presidents. But how am I s’posed
to ‘member all eighteen of them?! That’s a lot of names Uncle Heath!”
“I’m sure your Mother will help you memorize them, don’t’ worry too much.
Speaking of your parents, I got a telegram from your Father today.” Heath
flicked the reins and they headed off towards Jarrod and Maggie’s house, just
on the edge of the Barkley property.
“Yeah?! He’s coming home in a couple of days, right?”
“Well now…”
“Again? He’s not coming home this weekend, but he promised!”
Heath’s heart sank just a bit; it wasn’t the first time that Thomas had been
disappointed. They all understood the importance of Jarrod’s position, but that
didn’t lessen Thomas’s disappointment when his father had to cancel time with
him. “Yeah, ‘fraid he’s pretty tied up in this whole state budget thing. But ya
know, your father and mother have an important day coming up.”
“Yeah I know their versary”
Chuckling, Heath corrected his young nephew. “Their anniversary. Seven years
they had been married this Friday. And Jarrod, your Pa, wants your Mother to
come up there for the weekend.”
“Oh! Okay we’re gonna go to Sacramento! Does that mean I’m gonna miss my test.”
“Actually Thomas, I think your mother and father might like to spend the
weekend with just the two of them. I was thinking you could come stay with us
for the weekend, how does that sound?”
“But we always do things together, Father wouldn’t have much fun if I wasn’t
there. They might get bored!”
“Well now, maybe they will. But sometimes, mothers and fathers need to spend
some time alone together, without the children.”
“How come?”
“How come what?”
“Why they need to be alone?”
“They just do, it’s good for them to have some time to themselves.”
“Do you and Aunt Sarah like to be alone?”
Heath shifted in his seat, “Sometimes, yeah it’s kinda nice.”
“But why? Ya got David and Daniel, why ya need to be alone when you got them?”
“We just do, take my word on it okay. Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is
that you’re gonna spend the weekend with us and I’m gonna try and talk your
mother into going to Sacramento to surprise your father for their anniversary.”
“But you just said that my Father wired you about it? I don’t get it!” Thomas
threw his hands up in frustration, Uncle Heath was sure not making a lot of
sense right now.
“I know, how do I explain this? Okay, let’s just leave it that we’re not gonna
tell your mother that I got a wire from your father, okay?”
“But why?!”
“Boy howdy, you are a little Nick!” Heath was thankful that they had arrived in
front of the house and Maggie came outside to greet them.
Thomas jumped down and Heath crossed his fingers that he wouldn’t say anything
about their conversation to Maggie.
“Hi Mother! Thomas ran past her in a whirlwind and slammed the door as he went
inside, making Maggie cringe.
“Thanks again for getting him Heath. I do appreciate it.”
“No problem Mags, listen can we sit down for a moment?”
“Of course.” Maggie extended her arm to the porch swing. It had been a gift
from Heath on Maggie’s 23rd birthday and one of her favorite places to sit and
relax. She sat down and he took the seat beside her. “What’s on your mind
Heath?”
He had to do a good acting job, he wasn’t much of a liar, not for any reason.
But he had to admit, Jarrod’s idea was a good one and he was very much liking
the idea, even if it did mean a little white lie. “Ya know, Sarah and I were
thinking just this morning about how it looks like Jarrod might not make it
back in time for your wedding anniversary this Friday.”
“Yes I know.” Maggie replied, somewhat sadly. She was well aware of her
husband’s duties to the citizens of this state, but it didn’t make her miss him
any less.
“So who says ya have to have your anniversary here?”
“You mean go up to Sacramento? Oh I don’t know, he might not have much time for
me with all the budget fighting going on up there.”
“I’m sure he’d make some time if you went there.”
“Surprise him? Oh goodness, you know I don’t think he’s too much into the
surprise thing anymore after that disastrous little adventure to Freemont.”
“Oh yeah, well that was a bit different.”
“A bit different? The stagecoach overturned, the driver was killed and I ended
up spending three days in a blizzard with Nick and his broken leg. Definitely,
just a bit different!”
“Well now, still too warm for snow and you’d be on a train, not a stage coach.”
“I suppose that I could. I did buy a new dress for our anniversary and it has
been over a month since I’ve seen him. I do miss him so. But what about
Thomas?”
“He can stay with us for the weekend.”
“But…”
“No buts Mags, you know you’re just itching to see him. Nice hotel, just the
two of you and he’ll be as surprised as can be.”
“You mean just the two of us plus twenty or so senators laying claim to his
time.” Maggie stood up and paced the front porch. “Alright Heath, only if you
promise to let me take David and Daniel for your anniversary weekend!”
“It’s a deal Mags. Now you better go pack, Sarah and I will pick ya up first
thing in the morning and take you to the train station.”
While they were on a two-hour recess, still neck deep in budget planning, the
young Senator Barkley headed across the street towards the best jewelry store
in Sacramento.
The plan
was perfect, Maggie thought. She looked out at the passing scenery as the train
chugged towards Sacramento. She’d get the key to his suite and wait for him in
his room. Draping herself across his bed, she’d wait for him in a flimsy ivory
nightgown that she had purchased for the occasion. Oh and the coffee, Maggie
couldn’t forget about that! If it proved to be another long day in the Senate
that ran into the evening hours, she couldn’t have her husband walking into his
hotel room and finding her fast asleep. That just wouldn’t do at all! It would
be a lovely surprise and she was glad that Heath had talked her into it.
A month was far too long to be away from Jarrod. She was missing everything.
From the Sunday mornings when Thomas would come bounding into the room and wake
the both of them up, still snuggled tightly together. To the long lingering
nights when he’d love her so slowly that she thought she could lose her mind
from its intensity. He could at times be incredibly slow and deliberate;
lingering for long periods over just one part of her body and other times he’d
take her with reckless abandon, leaving her utterly breathless.
Grinning, she thought of one particular time when she’d had brought him dinner.
He’d been late coming home and Thomas was over at his Uncle and Aunt’s house
playing. So Maggie had fixed up a basket and drove the carriage into town to
find him still behind his desk. When he saw her come in, he didn’t say a word
but grabbed her around her waist and thrust his mouth upon hers, darting his
tongue inside her mouth. Maggie couldn’t remember how she had gotten onto his
leather sofa, but he had stripped her off her blouse in a few short moves,
breaking off one of the buttons. ‘Oh God, Maggie I need you.’ He had groaned
into her ear. After fumbling with her skirts, he had yanked his slacks down to
his knees and pressed his engorged member between her legs. Jarrod had been the
only man she had ever truly known and she had been shocked not so much by his
length, but the girth of his manhood. Even after giving birth to Thomas, she
could still feel herself stretching to accommodate his thickness. He entered
her with one fluid thrust till he was fully engulfed by her warmth and wetness.
He thrust hard and fast, his desires fully unleashed upon her. She gripped his
back, not realizing that her nails pressed into his soft flesh. The suave and
sophisticated attorney made love to her wildly, unbridled and so full of
passion that it drove her to the brink His mouth covered hers, his tongue
plunged deep inside her mouth, she had to gasp for breath. Grabbing her knees
he pushed them upwards so he could drive himself even deeper inside her, beads
of sweat formed across his brow. She fairly screamed into his mouth as powerful
waves swept over her again and again. He felt her muscles, her core straining
and pulsating against him and with one last drill into her he exploded with a
yell that she could’ve sworn was heard all the way to the ranch. Afterwards, he
had teased her, when he had regained both his breath and his composure. He sat
up on the sofa and pulled the basket to himself. She was still out of breath,
her eyes still dreamy with her body’s release. “You brought dinner, thank
goodness, I’m starved!” Maggie had stared at him and then laughed.
Focusing again on the scenery, she shifted uncomfortably in her seat; it
certainly was warm on that train!
Thankfully, the Senate adjourned at just a quarter past four in the afternoon.
If the train was to be on time, he had just less than two hours before Maggie’s
arrival in Sacramento. Stopping at the front desk, he made sure that everything
was ready. It had to be perfect, four very long weeks since he’d last been with
his young wife. Too long to be away from her smile, her soft skin that was
freckled in just the right spots and her petite frame underneath his, fused
together in their lovemaking.
“Oh and Senator, the flowers you ordered arrived. I’ve had them taken to your
suite and set up just as you requested.”
“Thank you.” Jarrod took money from his pocket and placed a hefty amount of it
in the hotel manager’s hand.
The manager grinned, “Happy anniversary Senator Barkley!”
Jarrod called out another thank you as he headed up the stairs to his suite.
Upon opening his door he was instantly greeted by the heady fragrance of the
flowers that filled the room. Deep red Elizabethan roses, long sprigs of
lavender and bunches of daisies. They were all among Maggie’s favorites;
especially the daisies and he had purchased five dozen of those. He worried now
if he hadn’t overdone it just a little. Checking his pocket watch, he noted he
had time enough for a bath and change of clothes before dinner and Maggie arrived.
A good hot bath was just the thing to relieve the stress of the day, the Senate
had been brutal and there was no end in sight to the bitter arguing over the
state budget. He had never imagined it would be like this, he had thought he
would do so much good as a Senator but now he wasn’t so sure. He settled into
the hot water and let the warmth lap over his lean body. Closing his eyes, he
allowed his hand to linger on his manhood while he thought on what the evening
and the next two days would bring. He grew and thickened while his soapy hand
slowly stroked it, thinking on the very first time he had made love to her.
He had gone to her hotel room, just down the hall from his own, to talk or at
least that’s what he had told himself. He’d noticed her wearing reading glasses
for the first time, something strangely sexy about those thin gold rims sitting
down on her nose. That white nightgown, covered everything from her neck to her
toes, but then she had stepped slightly to the right and the light shone from
directly behind her. He e saw the outline of her small frame through the fabric
and he couldn’t return to his room, he had to be with her. She was only
nineteen and so innocent, having very little idea of what to expect. She’d been
such an enthusiastic student, so eager to learn and please and he wanted to
please her just as much.
Careful to not yet work himself into frenzy, he had to tell himself that the
real pleasure was soon to come. When he emerged from his bath, his hardness was
aching and he shivered when he touched the large purple head with the towel. It
wasn’t until he had fully toweled off and pulled on his silk pajamas that he
returned to a less heightened state. At this point, he couldn’t imagine making
it all the way through dinner without having her again. ‘No more of this.’ He
told himself. No more of weeks and weeks spent without her, without their son.
Thomas was old enough now, he was in school. His son could attend school in
Sacramento while the Senate was in session and school in Stockton when it
wasn’t. He knew of two other senators that did the same thing with their
families, surely Maggie would go for the idea.
Jarrod tied the burgundy sash to his robe and checked the mirror, running a
comb through his hair. There was nothing left to do but to wait for her
arrival. “Fireplace!” He exclaimed out loud. He built a small fire, just enough
to provide the room with a warm glow. Satisfied, he sat down. “Note!” He shook
his head, how could he have forgotten the note to go with the present for his
wife. He opened up the small velvet line box and checked the present one more
time, sure that she would love it. From the small desk, he watched the sun
begin its descent in the sky while he penned a love letter to Maggie for their
anniversary.
To my heart, my wife:
You are my beginning, the reason I keep up the fight. You are my end, the
last thing in my mind’s eye before I drift to sleep. You fill my life with more
joy; more love and more desire than any man should have a right to even dream
of.
Without you I am incomplete, without your touch I am cold. You came to me,
you reached to my darkest depths and brought me to the light. My very soul is
held in your small hands.
Each day I awaken thinking it is not possible to love you any more and each
night I go to bed knowing that I had been wrong.
Seven years with you as my wife is but a drop in time. Seventy years would
not be long enough for me to spend with you. For no matter how long my soul
goes on, it’ll not be enough time to show you how much I love you.
I am forever your husband, your lover and friend.
Forever yours and with all my being,
Jarrod
The train pulled into the Sacramento Station right on time. Maggie disembarked
with her one bag and began the ten-minute walk to the top of the hill and the
hotel. Her heart was pounding with anticipation.
The food and wine arrived. The small round table was set with crystal, china
and a small silver candelabrum. Jarrod lifted the lids on each silver chafing
dish and checked its contents. The label was checked on the bottle of wine and
he smiled contentedly. Everything was ready. He glanced into the other room and
towards the large empty bed, it needed something, didn’t look quite finished.
With a wry grin, he plucked three roses from a vase and pulled the petals off,
scattering them across the bed.
“Excuse me?” Maggie stood in the hotel lobby at the front desk, her bag in her
hand. “My name is Mrs. Barkley, my husband Senator Barkley is staying here.”
“Oh yes Mrs. Barkley. How can I help you?”
“I was hoping if you’d be able to tell me if my husband was in?” She crossed
her fingers and held her breath.
“Oh no ma’am, I’m sorry he hasn’t returned to his room as yet.”
She exhaled and smiled. “Could I possibly have a key to his room, I’d like to
surprise him.”
“Lovely idea madam, of course.” He pulled a key from its slot and handed it
over to her. “Suite number three, up the stairs and second door to your right.
Do you need help with your bag Mrs. Barkley?”
“Oh no I’m fine, thank you.” The excitement took over and she ran up the stairs
with her bag. She had no idea how long she had until Jarrod would return to the
hotel. ‘Second door on the right’. Maggie stopped and slid the key into the
door and turned. Opening the door, she caught the scent of roses in the air and
the bag she carried dropped to the floor.
Jarrod stood next to the table in his navy silk pajamas and the rich burgundy
robe that looked so stunning on him. “Good evening Lady Love. Happy
anniversary.”
Her mouth dropped open and she took in the whole scene. The table, the flowers
and her handsome husband.
“Darling, are you coming in?” Jarrod smiled amusedly at her. He stepped forward
and took her hand. “Surprised?”
“I…I thought I was going to…” She realized that Heath had set her up. “Oh
bother! I thought I was going to surprise you for our anniversary, I didn’t
know it was going to be the other way around!”
His arms enveloped her, “For once the surprise is on you Maggie.” His lips
sought out hers and tenderly kissed her, her lips parted to his and he slid his
tongue inside her mouth. Desires had to be kept at bay, he had the evening all
planned and he intended to follow it through. He only hoped that she’d try
something new.
“I’ve missed you so Jarrod. A month is too long.”
“It is far too long Lady Love.” He put his arm around her waist “Are you
hungry?”
Green eyes met brilliant blue ones, “Very.” The double meaning was not lost on
him.
“Do you trust me?”
“Jarrod, such a question, of course I do.”
A light kiss was placed on her forehead, “Good, come into the bedroom.” He took
her by the hand and led her inside.
“Rose petals on the bed, you are such a romantic Jarrod!” Maggie clapped her
hands together; he never ceased to amaze her.
Turning her around slowly, he began to work on the buttons of her dress. She
moved to help him and he gently took hold of her hands. “Let me do it. Stay
still.”
Maggie’s breath caught in her throat. He was methodical, not speaking a word as
he undid the tiny buttons that went from the back of her neck to her waist.
With the buttons undone, he slid the dress slowly off her shoulders. His hands
touched her bare skin and she shuddered. “Jarrod.”
“Shhh, honey just relax.” The dress fell to the floor and he lifted her into
his arms and set her down upon the bed, Jarrod kneeled in front of her and
undid the laces on her shoes. He stroked her calf, kissing its curve. The
petticoats were pushed up to her knees.
Her breath came out in short bursts, her heart pounding in her chest. His touch
set her skin on fire. He pulled a neatly folded silk square from his pocket and
closed in on her, kissing the side of her neck and her earlobe. He looked at
her for a moment and Maggie gasped as he folded the silk over her eyes and tied
it behind her head.
“Are you okay Maggie? I can take it off if you want me to.”
“I’m okay, but what about that dinner it’ll get cold.” She realized after she
said it that it sounded pretty silly. She hadn’t seen him in a month and all
she could think of saying was to worry about the dinner. Her stomach was filled
with butterflies, not knowing what to expect. He had never done anything like
this before. Her world was in darkness and she listened to every little sound.
“Who said you weren’t having dinner?” Jarrod lifted her up again and carried
her back to the main room, setting her down on the chair next to the table. She
heard the silver clink and the wine being poured.
“What are you doing?” Laughing slightly, she wondered what her husband was up
to.
“Open up.” He tipped the fork against her lips. Sliding the fork in, she
watched it disappear behind her full lips. “How is it?”
“Beef Wellington?”
“Uh huh.” He fed her another bite and watched her. He had expected this to be
erotic for her; he hadn’t fully expected it to be erotic for himself. To watch
her sitting by the table, dressed in only her undergarments and blindfolded. Hs
manhood stirred and came to life. There was no way he was going to be able to
keep this up through a whole meal without making love to her. Jarrod moved onto
dessert, simple and delicious, chocolate pudding. Her favorite dessert of all.
He filled up the spoon and slid the thick chocolate between her lips and
watched her lick the chocolate from her lips. His member pushed at his pajamas
begging for release. Leaning down, he kissed her softly, tasting chocolate on
her lips.
His thin lips were a gentle caress against hers, fueling her desire. She felt
his hand on her chest and felt it slide down underneath her camisole. He
massaged her nipple into hardness and tweaked it slight between his thumb and
forefinger. Jarrod pulled off his robe and then worked on the lacings that
bound her camisole. The thin cotton was pulled back and he bent down in front
of her to feast on her breasts. Maggie’s hands wrapped around his neck as he
brought his mouth to her hardened nipple and took it between his lips. His body
pressed against her legs and she opened them to allow him to move in closer.
Growing passions drove him on, her eyes still covered; he pushed her breasts together
with both hands and quickly nipped at one nipple then the other. Massaging her
breasts and lightly nibbling on her, he felt her heart beating rapidly.
His hands left her breasts and wrapped underneath her hips, drawing her to the
edge of the chair. “You are so beautiful.” He said quietly. Pushing up her
skirts, her removed the one undergarment impeding his access to her soft folds.
“Jarrod.” He kissed the inside of her thighs and traced the outline of her fur
with his fingertips. An index finger slipped between the soft lips and he
smiled at Maggie’s light moan. She was already damp with desire. He used his
fingers to open her nether lips and moving from her soft brown buds, he brought
his oral explorations southward. Maggie shirked slightly in her seat. “Shhh,
stay still honey.” He told her lovingly. His tongue ran over her opening,
lapping up her juices and caressed her nub. She felt his finger circle her
opening and slide inside her. Then a second finger slid inside her and began
pumping them slowly, maddeningly slow. “Jarrod please, I need you.”
Aching to be inside her, he was more than happy to oblige. He kept her
blindfold on and pulled her down onto the floor next to him. His pajama bottoms
were hastily removed and left in a heap next to him. Jarrod sat on his knees
and drew her legs around his waist. His thick head pulsated with need as he
pressed it against her opening.
“Jarrod, I need you inside me, please.” He pulled her hard to him and thrust
inside her in one swift motion. Taking her by the waist he lifted her up till
she sat in his lap. Grasping her hips, he pushed against her. Maggie rose up
till just the tip of him remained inside then impaled herself, thrusting
downwards on his member. The blindfold was pushed off and he kissed her hard,
his tongue thrusting into her mouth in sync with the thrusts inside her.
“Harder love, please.” Maggie begged.
His thrusts became harder and more frantic, he moved forward till her back was
on the floor and she drew up her legs to allow deeper penetration. Maggie
grasped his buttocks, sweat and perspiration mingled together. Her fingers dug
into his bottom as wave after delicious wave of orgasms swept over her and she
cried out. He drove in harder against the contractions that gripped his hardness,
“Oh yes! Maggie!” His face contorted as hot bursts of his seed shot inside her.
They held one another, kissing and whispering words of love to each other while
their heart rates slowed and their breathing returned to normal. Curled up on
the floor, Jarrod stroked her red hair lovingly and his eyes roamed over her
body. “You hungry?” “Starving!” Moving to the table, still in a state of
undress, they ate their now lukewarm dinner together.
“You know,” Maggie started, “Seems a shame that we’ve made love on the floor
and didn’t make use of those beautiful rose petals on the bed!”
“The night’s not over yet Lady Love.” Jarrod swept her up into his arms and
carried her to the bedroom. They took their time making love, each taking great
care in making sure the other was fully satisfied. With Maggie fully relaxed
and satiated, he reached into the nightstand drawer and pulled out the velvet
box and the crisply folded letter he’d written for her. “Happy anniversary
darling.”
“Wait, I have something for you too.” Maggie got up from the bed and he watched
her naked form cross the room to get her bag. Rejoining him on the bed, she
handed him a small box. “You first.” She said.
Jarrod opened it to find a pair of square gold cufflinks, a tiny diamond
encrusted at the top and his initials richly engraved in the center. “These are
wonderful Maggie, thank you! I do believe I’ll wear them today. Perhaps they’ll
bring us some good luck and we can get this nasty budget fight done and over
with.” He kissed her softly and touched her cheek. “Thank you. Now, your turn.”
“Letter or box first.”
Jarrod mulled it over for a moment. “Box.”
She opened it and her eyes flew open wide. Inside the box was a gold hair comb.
Long prongs to hold her waves of red hair and at the top of the comb was a line
of diamonds and emeralds, small stones, just the right size for her he had
thought.
“Emeralds to match your beautiful eyes, my Lady Love.”
“Oh Jarrod, it’s exquisite! I’ve never seen anything like this before.” She
clasped it gingerly in her hands. Jarrod knew that she wasn’t very big on lots
of jewelry, her wedding band and the gold heart necklace he’d given her was all
she usually wore. But he knew that she did like hair combs and he would often
seek to bring her home a different one when he traveled away from her. But he
had never before given her such an extravagant comb and hoped she wouldn’t
think it too much.
“Sure you like it?” He queried.
“I love it! Thank you!” Her arms went around his bare shoulders and kissed him.
Maggie opened the letter he’d written and as she read, her eyes filled with
tears. “Oh Jarrod, this was beautiful. So eloquent and sweet and loving. I love
you!”
They were soon both drifting towards sleep; he spooned up against her and
stroked her tummy. Nowhere else did she feel so content and safe as she did in
his arms.
In the morning, he held her still and she groggily spoke her name as she woke
up and curled up against him. “Mmmm, good morning Lady Love.”
“Morning. What time is it?”
“A little after seven. I’ve got to get up and get dressed, but will you come to
have lunch with me?”
“Uh-huh.” Maggie replied disappointed. She knew he had to go tow work, but she
still didn’t want him to leave. Spending the whole day in bed sounded like a
much better idea then him leaving for work. “Couldn’t you play hooky?” She
stretched out beside him.
Jarrod pulled back the covers, “I wish I could. I truly do.” Rising from bed,
he looked at her with longing. Going to the bathroom, he started up the water
for the tub. And when it was ready, he slid into the warm water. He heard the
door creak behind him and turned to see Maggie come into the room.
“Can I wash your back?” She asked, standing near the tub without any clothes
on. Not waiting for an answer, she knelt down beside the tub and took the soapy
washcloth from his hands. Leaning forward, he closed his eyes while she slowly
rubbed the cloth against the soft skin of his back. Jarrod’s lips parted and
his manhood came to life again when she planted her mouth into the side of his
neck, licking and sucking on his damp skin. The washcloth moved to his front,
gliding across the sparse hairs on his chest and settling on his hardened,
sensitive nipples.
“I think I’m going to be a little late this morning.” Jarrod took her hand,
“Join me Maggie.”
She grinned and carefully stepped into the tub with him, a tight fit but she
didn’t care. Straddling him, Jarrod stretched out his legs and she sat down
upon his lap. His throbbing member between them, her breasts pressed against
his soapy chest. Jarrod plunged his mouth onto hers; her tongue past his lips
and danced with his. He took hold of her buttocks and raised her up, centering
himself beneath her opening; he brought her back down on it slowly and slid
inside her warm depths. Water sloshed out of the sides of the tub while she
rode her husband hard, leaving him out of breath. He sucked on her round
breasts and a few minutes later groaned loudly as the release washed over him.
As the last of his fluid poured into her, her insides spasmed against his
member, squeezing him and milking out the last drops of his seed. “Jarrod!” She
gasped and buried her face in his shoulder; her whole body trembled with the
waves. He held her oh so tightly, his head against her bosom.
The water cooled, their breathing labored no more and Maggie couldn’t resist a
bit of gentle teasing. “You are quite amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever met a
Senator with your enthusiasm.”
“Ah well madam, that’s what makes me such a good Senator. My youthful
enthusiasm!” He hugged her tight. “I love you so Mrs. Barkley.”
A short while later she watched him get dressed. “What time do you want me to
come for lunch Jarrod?”
“About one? There’s a very nice little French restaurant just around the corner
from my office, we can eat there.”
“Sounds perfectly wonderful. But I still wish you could play hooky!”
He leaned down on the bed and kissed her. “So do I honey. Do you have any plans
for the morning?”
“Oh I don’t know.” She sighed. “I thought I might go shopping and waste away
the entire Barkley fortune!”
“That’s a lot of shopping!” He chuckled.
It was so hard for him to leave her, but the Senate and the state budget
called. He kissed her deeply.
“I love you Jarrod. Now you go and stop that fighting so you can come home for
your break!”
“I will do my best. I’ll see you at lunch.”
The door closed and Maggie stretched out on the bed dreamily. She laughed to
herself, thinking on what she was going to do to Heath for payback when she got
home. He had tricked her but good! But she’d probably do nothing, for it had
been a most wonderful trick.
Jarrod grinned contentedly to himself as he caught a carriage over to the
Senate building. She was quite something, he thought to himself.
Neither of them knew at that point that their romantic weekend was soon to end
badly. Jarrod and Maggie would argue over Thomas going to two schools and
Maggie would leave Sacramento in tears.
