Olympic Arms K3B AR-15 Carbine

A standard issue AR-15 carbine from Olympic Arms with little in the way of “whistles and bells.”  Like all rifles on this site, it is a civilian-legal semi-automatic, and a copy of the US military’s M16, or more correctly the M4.  When first developed in the 1960s and issued to American soldiers it marked a seminal turning point in how armies would forever arm themselves.  The AR-15 (M16) is an extremely successful design, second only to the Soviet AK-47, and this particular copy is true to the original carbine style with a collapsing stock, birdcage flash hider and A2 upper receiver with iron sights.  It is chambered in 5.56 x 45 mm NATO (.223 Remington).  It also has a non-adjustable direct impingement gas system, considered by many to be the rifle’s only flaw.  These particular magazines are 20 and 30-round steel rather than aluminum and the sights are zeroed to 300 meters.
