| When its not about our faces... page 5 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ENOUGH ZNUFF 'Tis with plenitude of thought, sufficiency of reason That I hereby do cease - decry this dismal Winter season; This eon, this semester, yea; this quarter without mirth; That sets itself the task to masque an unsuspecting Earth. A Mephistophelian act is perpetuated yearly When a skulking Winter slithers into view quite insincerely; Sometimes, at first, it proffers bursts of geometric flakes, Victorian view - that premiere few - so sweet a sight to make. Distracted, we, who fail to see the shrinkage of the light; The diminution of the day, the lengthening of night; Until we see that chilled are we by Winter, which has chosen To wreak its havoc most on us, to leave no space unfrozen. I daresay, then, with strength of pen, we've Had enough of Winter; If we don't soon look forth to June, our souls Will surely splinter. Our democratic forms in place, lest error be repeated - I hereby move, if you'll approve, next Winter be deleted. Gary |

| A STAR FROM HEAVEN A star fell from heaven that cold Winters night, Illuminating the world in its brilliant light. In the air was heard an angels sweet sound, A sprinkle of snow covered the ground. A young boy ran to the star glowing bright, And gathered it up in his arms so tight. He took it to a stable and there on the ground, Laid the precious treasure that he had found. He looked up and saw he was not alone, People surrounded him, still as stone. There were shepherds, and kings bearing gifts of gold, All standing silent in the night air so cold. A woman lay sleeping on the hay, Her infant son had been born that day. He lay in a manger fast asleep, The boy leaned over and took a peep. The child so beautiful, opened his eyes, He looked at the boy and began to cry. The boy unwrapped his treasure and lifted it high, Then placed in the manger his gift from the sky. The child became silent, the visitors watched in awe, As a glow of light from the manger stretched to the door. The light spread further all through the world, The star from heaven its miracles unfurled. Splash |
