When its not about our faces... page 3
TUESDAYS CHILD

She was a child so out of place,
But a child who wanted to show her grace,
And play games with the other kids
Skip and dance like they did.
When she tried they laughed and pointed
Her school days difficult, scary, disjointed.
They stood laughing watching her prance.
It was only the fat kid trying to dance.

Disregarded, she didnt fit in,
Oh how she wished she could be thin.
Feelings aching from daily taunts,
No calls, no invites to teenage jaunts.
In front of a mirror she watched herself prance.
It was only the fat girl trying to dance.

Intimidation loomed so strong,
Even though she did no wrong.
She began to lose the will to try,
Her body the ruler, inside she would cry.
The anger within built a will to defy,
Why couldnt they see she wanted to fly?
On the dance floor alone she pranced.
It was only the fat woman trying to dance.

They never looked to see, never knew how she cried.
The outer shell disguised the woman inside.
They eyed her, and sniggered and walked away.
'I want to be like you', she needed to say.
'I want to wear dresses, I want to have grace'
'Cant you see the pain in my face?'
'I can dance too, let me try!'
They shrugged, laughed and strolled by.
She wanted so much to fly, to prance!
But she was only the fat lady trying to dance.

Splash
FOREVER

I see them walking hand in hand
Down the street as woman and man
He holds her gently, carries her purse
Lost together in a moment of silent verse.

He steers her clear of the danger on the street
That puddle of mud, was oh so deep
He leans over to place a kiss on her head
She turns her lips to him instead.

Fifty years of a love grown strong
Knowing forever in each others arms they belong
Still after all this time,
They hold each other with their rhyme
"Roses are red, violets are blue
God gave me a gift, it was you"

She smiled at him and returned a rhyme
"I love you my dear, till the end of time
Until the day the Lord calls me home
My love to you will always be shown."

I see them embrace, exchange a knowing glance
Lost in each others eyes, caught within a trance
The trance of true love, two souls as one
Their hearts as fresh as when their love had begun.

Just out of sight, I let out a sigh
I close my window, and look towards my guy
I walk over to him, to place a kiss on his head
He raised his lips to mine instead....
