ELLEN - Ellen is from Belgium. She is almost 26 and has been struggling with BP since May 2002. She listens a lot to Tony Vincent (American singer/songwriter) because his lyrics give her the strength and courage to keep on believing in herself. She is now 50% recovered and her goal is to achieve a full smile. She is happy to be able to express her emotions through writing because she is not much of a talker.
TWOFACED - George is 32 and from the USA. He first got BP at age 21 on his right side. At age 31, he got it again on the left side. He is now about 80-85% recovered and he says the BPIS forum has been a life savor for him, especially the help from the wise ones like Splash and Paul.
TOM -Tom is 52 and lives in Cleveland, OH, USA. He has been married for 27 years and has one daughter. He is a licensed funeral director. His episode with BP started on July 10, 2004. He is very happy to see his poem on Crooked Smiles.
CHRIS JACKSON - Chris is a retired teacher/administrator from a private Catholic high school. Despite holding a number of administrative positions, he always taught one class, a senior English honors group. Married with two grown girls, he is an avid golfer, bridge player, theatre goer and traveler. He lives just outside Boston, USA. His BP began at the end of January 2005.
FLO - Flo is 40 years young, no children, but 2 dogs, one spoiled rotten, one just plain goofy. She loves the arts, writing, drawing, singing, creating, and cooking. She lives at the foot of the smokie mountains in Tenessee, USA. She loves to ride her motorcycle, wind in her hair and bugs in her teeth LOL. She spends a lot of time outdoors, has a big flower garden, and a veggie garden, because its always good to know what you're eating!
DEBI DRECKSLER - Debi resides in Asheville, North Carolina USA, with her husband and best friend Richard. She is a consumer writer and the owner of a gourmet chocolate business! She was recently afflicted with Bells Palsy and is staying positive that her ability to smile will soon return.
RONI -Veronica (aka Roni) is a young 40 year old Scottish lass who lives in the suburbs of Paris, France with her husband and 3 kids (11,13 & 16), 2 dogs and a hamster. In 1993 her son, at the age of 3, had BP and then Roni got BP in 1994 when she was pregnant with her third baby. She went it alone for 12 years and decided to join BPIS and BPA forums to finally face the residuals she has been left with and to be able to discuss her feelings with everyone else. She loves to read, enjoys good food (especially French) and socialising with good company.
LOIS - Lois lives in Sarasota, FL, USA. with her husband and two cats. She taught Kindergarten in NJ for 35 years. Just 2 years after she retired she got Bells Palsy, at the age of 59 and was lucky to find the BPN and BPIS early in her BP experience. She was a slow healer and didn't recover fully and has had some success dealing with residuals with Botox and NMR exercises. Lois spends her time cuddling her two cats, traveling with her husband, enjoying visits from her daughter and looks forward to visits with her 5 grandchildren in England. She loves talking to people on the BPIS and BPN and meeting these people when she travels. She likes to sing in the church choir, does some charity work, does a little gardening and loves the freedom that retirement gives her. BP has opened a whole new look on life....new friends, new attitude, new mission, awareness of the goodness in people and an understanding and appreciation for those of us who are "different".
