| JUST ONE DAY
If I had just one day, Just 24 hours I would walk through the gardens, Dancing amongst the flowers. I would smile all day Talk to every person I saw. Run through the streets Never again to withdraw. I wouldn't hide my face, I wouldn't hide my smile I'd be perfect again, Just for a while . There would be no pain No meds to take . Strange looks wouldn't cause My tender heart to break I'd laugh and sing Even though I can't carry a tune. I'd grin at everyone All afternoon . Give me one day Only a little while. Let me show the world That I can still smile . Then as I lay down to sleep, Take my grin back For its yours to keep. I just want one day free, Just one day Just to be me!!! Carrie |
| PALSIED MEN In the blink of an eye We are lost upon a sea of shadows. We wait. With Cyclops-like frozen face We hide. Nerves are pit-of-stomach raw Searching for lost narcissism. Will the song of ourselves be sung again We ask And ask And ask. Chris Jackson (A BP veteran of one week) |
