| FEAR OVERTAKES ME Fear overtakes me Im locked inside Nowhere to run And nowhere to hide The pain rides on waves Sickening my soul I hate this frustration This loss of control The questions they come But theyre always the same What is this thats happened? And am I to blame They give me no answers They only medicate Prescribe and hypothisis In hopes to eradicate Please give it a name That helps it makes sense Give me a reason Let me prepare a defense Facing inward To avoid the outside Mirrors I bypass But from myself I cant hide Trust in myself Leaning on me Would never have believed How hard this could be We think we know ourselves From the image that looks back Mirrors are jokers And the images lack The truth lies deeper Where we all fear to go Who we are truly Is born from the soul Sherry K |
| Inside herself She wants to be healthy, to run and to play But inside her house, in pain she will stay Not knowing what's wrong, No answers are found Within her own mind she has become bound Her features have changed, Her smile replaced Looking in the mirror, is this really her face? The hurt she feels not knowing where to turn Inside herself her tears they burn Not allowing one to escape for fear they wont stop Into a silent depression she now has dropped No one here to understand, No one to help or hold her hand Her eyes well up as she walks away Inside herself is where this must stay She refuses to be seen as not being strong But she knows deep within that this is wrong She needs to reach out, to hold someone's hand She needs someone to lean on, to help her stand She walks from the mirror back to her room She is still within her hand built tomb She lays her head upon the pillow watching the wind blow the giant willow Her eyes have closed, her breathing now deep She has drifted off to her eternal sleep.
