Slave of the Masamune
A Guide by Archangel Zero
Game: Chrono Cross
Boss: Dario (Optional Battle)
This guy is proof that ancient evil swords and deadly knights should never be brought together. Ever. You'd better be prepared for this one. Otherwise, you're going down like Lynx to hell.
Dario
Element: Black
First thing's first. You know all those nice, shiny elemental attacks you like to use? In this battle, they'll probably just get you killed.  It's  best to take only strong warrior-type characters on this trip to the playground. Dario's innate element is black, which, if you're still Lynx, could be a problem. Whenever you attack Dario with ANY non-physical element, he'll either heal himself or, worse, unleash a huge attack that usually kills at least one party member. Even his physical attacks can do up to 400 HP in damage. It's best to load up your grid with healing and supplemental elements and go after him with pure physical strength. As soon as a character loses about 25% of their health, use a healing spell or item as soon as possible. Have at least three Holy Healing elements on hand for emergencies. Then, four CureAlls, four HealAlls, and two Revives PER CHARACTER. Just keep hacking away at him until he falls. The first time I beat this guy was a suprise, when everyone but Kid was dead, and a last desperate Red Pin took out Dario. Let's hope you do better than that.
Items gained: Sea Swallow turns to Mastermune, and
                      Riddel's Level 7 Element
HP: 3,500
