DUALITY OF WATER

The color of water
is plan to see,
It’s blue
. . . or white
. . . and sometimes a bit of green.
It looks best
when painted with light
from the sun or moon,
and Man is awed by the sight.

Maker of rainbows, mist, and sea,
You give me life, You are half of me.

And naïve Man throws you his waste,
And in anger You destroy
in the storm’s haste,
You grow turbulent
and cold, like death
And you drown
And you take Man’s very last breath.
