TRAPPED IN THE TEMPLE

like a lone, soaring hawk,
his call
piercing a colorless rain-sky;
a cry in the dark
shot through my brain
and sat,
ringing in my ear
for a thousand lifetimes
never leaving me, still.
crying,
shouting
desperately
wailing high and low,
begging for
RELEASE…
or help.
and help I could not,
for the cry
came from within.

TRAPPED IN THE TEMPLE
written 1981

Inspiration
An empathetic poem, where I could identify my suffering with the suffering of others.  We cry from within, and suffering is a problem shared by all humanity.
