THE WAY IT SHOULD BE

| I’m
waiting for the happy ending No pleasure in the time I’m spending Fairy tales promise me a wedding Cherish kiss bridal bliss, I’m waiting Flowing over under through me Afraid, inpatient of what will be Apple blossoms bud on the tree They, too, want fruitful plentiful bounty Isn’t this universal desire bliss? Two become one by the spark of a kiss Old maid wonders what she may miss Young woman wonders why is this We may come in alone and die alone But time inbetween should have a happy home King and queen should have a throne Children should see wall notches where they have grown --CRONIN DETZZ Back to main page |

| Inspiration A young woman envisions the way that she believes life should be: married with children. The wait is difficult. Like the blossoms on an apple tree waiting to bear fruit, she too waits for her passage into motherhood. This is a universal desire - most young women want life to perpetuate as they see it unfold with a husband and children. "We may come in alone and die alone" refers to the fact that only the Creator is with us in birth and death. "All the time inbetween" refers to this life on earth. The picture in the background depicts a child's measurements on a doorway. Back to main page |
