SNAP THE BOOK ON THE FLY

step on the stone
that hurts your eye,
ring the phone
and you’re ready to fly,
burn the sea
then lay down to die,
Why do the good memories make me cry?

kill the queen
and chew the pawn,
the soul is weak
but the mind is brawn,
look for the dark
of the dawn,
My heart dried up because you’re gone.

break the key
that opens the floor,
don’t recall
old days of lore,
i am the moon – that’s my plea,
Forget the sun, COME BACK TO ME.

Inspiration
This is one of my all-time favorite poems.  It combines imagery nonsense with real undertones.
