PATH OF TRUE LOVE

There is no love like the forgetting of “self”
. . . there you are, and oh! I’m gone
. . . there’s nowhere else to go or be

and I tell the One, it’s just your fun
and make my agreement with reality

you may see two lovers walking down the path,
but in True Love you see only One.

PATH OF TRUE LOVE

Inspiration
God provides us with the gift of loving people and learning how to fall in love with another human being.  It is through this lesson that we learn how to love God.  This realization is in the lines, "and I tell the One [God], it's just your fun [love is a lesson] // and make my agreement with reality [I understand why people fall in love]"

The truest love is when the ego or individuality transforms from two separate souls into one grand soul.  This poem can be looked at as a love poem: "you may see two lovers walking down the path," but the real meaning is in the merging of the soul with God: "but in True Love you see only One."

The photo associated with this page is a beautiful statue called "Two Lovers Leap" statue in Guam.
