FACADE

red sweater,
feel better?

What a fine actress you are,
you must be a Hollywood Star,
too bad you’re crammed in a jar
the jar is glass,
you’re jammed in fast,
so stuffed you can’t open your eyes,
Tell the world it’s a rose-colored surprise
Play your role until your demise

scarred wrist,
scary twist

Come, dear, give us a smile,
show us your charm and your style,
make the drama worth our while

dead gray,
wasted away,
Loved ones now gone astray

Who cares anyway, it’s a game they play,
Beautiful life-dreams
snuffed out in the ashtray

FACADE

Inspiration
This poem talks about "drama" and "Play your role" because as long as a patient learns to follow the rules of the hospital, he/she will be released.
