COLD FIRE
There’s a cold fire burning in my gut,
Icy blades pierce the skin,
Can’t explain how, where, why, or what,
Or where to begin,
how shall I begin?
There’s a piercing pain in my shoulder,
It runs all down my spine,
Blizzard drifts just get colder,
Stays with me all the time
push it from my mind
Cold fire can’t warm the soul
but, flames of frost ain’t going to last!
Warm love is like red-hot coal
Eternal embers burn the past,
burn away what’s passed
Here come the ghosts back to haunt me,
I thought I chased them all away,
Although my past is part of me
This love brings brand new days,
it’s a brand new day
There’s a distant cold in my past,
but, a new love burns bright as the sun!
Melted ice isn’t made to last,
Time for you ghosts to move on,
time to move on
Found someone new to love me
and, he warmly kills the pain
Our love burns hot and brightly
And shines on through the rain,
now, there’s no rain.
