| It is the mission of DP/GSST PLAYERS to offer the community a variety of high quality theatrical and educational programs. These programs will be offered for all who are interested in atttending, without discriminaation of any kind. | It is the mission of Glass Slipper Showcase (GSS) to provide the youth community with high quality theater. Each performance will be presented in three tiers, designed for maximimum community involvement in the theatrical experience. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It is the mission of Downstage Productions (DP) to provide the adult community with high quality theater. A variety of plays (drama. comedy. classic and contemporary works) will be staged to appeal to various community interests. DP will produce a minimum of three shows per year. Performances will be staged on Friday and Saturday evenings as well as Sunday afternoon matinees which may appeal to the Senior population. In addition to productions, Downstage Productions will offer a variety of programs to the community: High school playwrights will be offered a program which will help them better understand the playwritting process as they are guided in revising and refining their works by playwriters in the community. This program will culminate in staged readings of students' original plays. A program for Senior Citizens will will provide these Seniors with the opportunity to help develop staged monologues base on their experience. Seniors will be encouraged to become involved in all aspects of the theater. The community will be offered opportunity to vote on shows they would like to see produced. These shows will be presented to the community in the form of staged readings, as well as suggestions from the community at large. Coffee Houses will be held periodically offering the community chances to perform monologues, poetry readings, sketches, dance and music routines, etc.... |

| A. Pre-Show Warm Up. Each child will receive a show-related activity on paper, such as a coloring page or word game. Children who dress in costume (e.g. Cinderella, Prince Charming. or a character from the current production) will be offered an opportunity to parade across the stage and have their parents take pictures. B. The Performance. . Cue cards will be presented to encourage the audience's participation and reaction to the show. (i.e. "Boo!", "Cheer!", "Clap Hands"). C. Post Show. Post show activities may include getting autographs and pictures taken with the cast. A pre-registered activity for a specified number of children will give the pre-registerd children an opportunity to stage a short improvisation of a familiar children's story. |

| For families wanting to make a party of the event, a party room will be offered, prior to the performance. A minimum of three performances will be produced each year, scheduled Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1pm and 3pm. Efforts will be made ro presesnt shows appealing to different age groups. Play production will be a creative and interactive process. While a script will be on hand, a theater lab approach will encourageg actors to develop and improvise lines, songs, and movement as they proceed during rehersals. Actors will be age appropriate for the roles being performed. and will come from the Playhouse members, and through open auditions from the community. |

| The DP/GSST PLAYERS consists of predominantly Baltimore County Residents with a variety of experiences in the performing arts. In addition to acting, staff members have experience in writing, producing, and directing shows, set construction and other technical support, website support/publicity, and education.
