Fire

I watched the sky,
I saw it flame,
A fiery inferno of heat and light.
The clouds turned red,
As blood was spilled,
And souls escaped into the night.
Screams of terror, screams of horror,
Reverberated through the cold night fair.
People shouted, world tumbled,
Because of the fire that scorched the air.
Sirens wail,
A mournful song,
Weeping for the dead.
But the sky was red,
And blood was spilled,
And no one turned their head.
I watched the end,
I saw it come,
It came not with dark, but with light.
I saw the world come to an end,
Because of the fire that scorched the night.
