| THE SOUTHERN SWAMP The Southern Swamp in the main area where the Deku reside. It is a large, wooded area with many lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Although the Deku cannot swim, many of the things is this area are found in or through water. The swamp gets lots of rain, and is very humid. The climate is always warmer than other parts of Termina, and though it gets cooler in the Winter, it never snows. Upper Southern Swamp This part of the Southern Swamp is near the entrance to Termina Field. It is the least moist area, and filled with some temperate vegetation. This location contains the Swamp Shooting Gallery, a popular place to play games with a Bow. Wolfos are said to inhabit this area at night. Lower Southern Swamp A ways down from the upper region, the Lower region is mostly covered in water. Only one piece of land stretches down from the upper area, which then leads to the Swamp Tourist Center which stands in the middle of the water. Then it continues into a massive region of water, which is dotted by strange plantlife and waterfalls. Mid-way down the watery area is a bit of land that leads to the Magic Hag's Potion Shop, situated in the middle of a shallow lake. Nearby the potion shop is the entrance to the Woods of Mystery. Near some mushroom-like plants in the lower portion of the swamp is the Skulltula House, a once-inhabited place now abandoned. At the very south is the entrance to Deku Palace. DEKU PALACE The Large Deku Palace is built around a large, tall formation or rock and dirt. Inside this formation is the Deku King's chamber. The Palace Grounds are large and have room for people to live and set up shop in the safety of the Palace Walls. The Palace is completely surrounded by water, except for a drawbridge connecting it to the lower area of the Southern Swamp. To the right of the palace is a small garden, and to the left a dark, expansive cavern. WOODS OF MYSTERY Near the Magic Hag's Potion Shop is the entrance to the Woods of Mystery. Finding your way around the woods is very difficult, and only Monkey Guides know the way perfectly. Deku know the area a bit better than the other races, but can still get lost easily. WOODFALL A large mountain that can be seen throughout Termina is known as Woodfall Mountain. The crater inside the mountain is known as Woodfall. The water, plants, and creatures here are all a bit different than from the rest of the Swamp. This is where the Woodfall Temple is found and the Great Fairy's Fountain is located. Only Deku or other races with the help of Deku can reach Woodfall. UNCHARTED TERRITORY The forests in the Southern Swamp still have yet to be explored. What lies within this vegetaion? |
