| The Deku are a small, plantlike race. Their bodies are covered with rough, brown skin that resembles bark. Their mouths are round and centered on the front of their face. Deku do not have hair, but instead their bodies have leaves on them. The Deku love to eat Magic Beans, prepared in a variety of different ways. Deku are very connected to nature and plants, and are very adamant when it comes to preserving it. The Southern Swamp, where they live, is filled with plantlife like no other area. Deku love the rain, as it refreshes their mind and spirit. The favorite pastime of the Deku is Hiploop Battling. After catching Hiploops, owners fight them for prize money, gambling, or just plain fun. Hiploop Battling is becoming increasingly popular around Termina, but since Hiploops can only be found in Woodfall, the Deku are the only ones with immediate access to the sport. However, Hiploop are very valuable elsewhere because of this and can be sold to outsiders for a pretty penny. Stay tuned for more information on how to battle Hiploop. The Deku are naturally Dextrous and start out at Level 1 with the Dexterity skill. |
