CHARACTER CREATION
So, you've read over the rest of the site and you're ready to get to making your character? This page introduces a step-by-step guide to creating your character, along with information on what your character starts out with and a few things to keep in mind.
STEP 1: CHOOSE A RACE
Your first (and perhaps most important) decision is your that of which of the six different races you want to belong to. You must choose carefully, as this will drastically effect how you will play the game. When deciding keep in mind what kind of weapons you'd like to use, how many skill points each race gets, what skills your race starts out with, what your race's appearence and customs are like, what your race's territory is like, and if you happen to know, if there are certain people you'd like to interact more with in your race. For more information, visit the Races page.

NOTE: At certain periods in the RPG, some races may fall behind in members compared to other races. It is
essential for each race to have a decent number of people to interact with and to fill professions. Things get even
worse as less people are in a race, as less people will want to join. Therefore, certain incentives are offered to
those who join a certain race. Under these circumstances, players will start out with 200 rupees instead of 150
rupees. More incentives may be added as needed.

CURRENT RACES IN NEED OF MEMBERS: None

STEP 2: CHOOSE A NAME
Before getting started with anything else, select a name for your character. Be sure that your name is not already in use. Try to select a name with a fantasy or Zelda tone, as it fits the setting of the RPG more. Remember that this is a serious RPG, so silly, stupid, or downright dumb names will not be allowed. Also keep in mind that you can choose to reflect a character from Majora's Mask.

STEP 3: WEAPON SKILL POINT DISTRIBUTION
Take a look at the Weapons page to get a list of the different weapons that are available. Choose ones that sound interesting to you or that you think will help you most in Combat and Battle. Remember that in order to get to an Advanced or Expert weapon, you must be at Level 2 with the previous weapon. You can also use Weapon Skill Points to learn how to use Weapon type items (see the Items page). Keep in mind what professions are available in your area, because it's best to be able to know how to use a weapon you can actually get. Below are the number of weapon skill points for each race.

TERMINIANS: 6 Weapon Skill Points
DEKU: 6 Weapon Skill Points
GORONS: 7 Weapon Skill Points
ZORA: 6 Weapon Skill Points
IKANA: 4 Weapon Skill Points
GERUDO:
7 Weapon Skill Points

STEP 4: NON-WEAPON SKILL POINT DISTRIBUTION
Next decide how you want to spend your Non-Weapon Skill points. Non-Weapon Skill points are used to either learn how to use Skills, Non-Weapon Type Items, or Professions. Keep in mind that the skills you know will help you perform certain tasks and will help mold your character's personality (see below). Non-Weapon type Items will often aide you in certain ways. As for professions, keep in mind that you do get points to be spent specifically on professions (see below), but spending more can help make your character better at a certain profession or learn multiple professions. Below are the number of non-weapon skill points each race receives.

Terminians: 8 Non-Weapon Skill Points
Deku: 8 Non-Weapon Skill Points
Gorons: 7 Non-Weapon Skill Points
Zora: 8 Non-Weapon Skill Points
Gerudo:
7 Non-Weapon Skill Points
Ikana:
10 Non-Weapon Skill Points

STEP 5: PROFESSION POINTS
Every player, no matter what race they are, is given 3 Profession Points. Professions Points are spent to learn how to practice professions. These points can be distributed over up to 3 professions, but keep in mind that the more you spread them, the less you'll be able to do in a certain field. I recommende using all 3 on one profession.

STEP 6: PERSONALITY POINTS
To help establish your personality (see below for more), every player is given 2 Personality Points to be used on things that help make the person unique. Personality Points cannot be used on any skill that raises your abilities in Combat, Battle, or other aspects of the RPG. Essentially, they are used on that skills take skill to learn, but have no practical purpose. Thus, you get two freebies to allow you to delve into these fields that would otherwise go unnoticed.

STEP 7: CHOOSE STARTING WEAPON AND ITEMS
Your character begins the game with 1 Weapon and 1 Item of your choice. You must have a skill that reflects these choices, and it cannot be any Expert weapon. You cannot start with a large-sized weapon. For Items, they must be basic (for example, you can't start out with a Pearl Pictograph, only a Normal Pictograph).

STEP 8: DEVELOP A PERSONALITY & YOUR CHARACTER'S INTERESTS
To make your character unique, decide on their personality. What does your character enjoy doing? What does he do in his spare time? What things interest him? Good ideas can come from things you like or skills your character has. For example, if your character has a Running skill, perhaps he likes to run. Make him jog around every once in a while to reflect his enjoyment. Interests can come in other forms, too. Say your character is a huge fan of the Indigo-Go's. He'll do anything to get into a concert, and may hum tunes during the day. These things make your character interesting and unique.

STEP 9: SET YOUR CHARACTER'S BASIC INFORMATION
Now that most everything else is taken care of, get some of the basic information for your character. Required information is your character's age, sex, dominant hand, and the order you will use your weapons in (which is your first choice?) in Combat. Feel free to add any other basic information you can think of.

STEP 10: GIVE A DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND
This step is optional, but I encourage you to participate in it. Describe how your character looks, as it'll help others interact with you and will make it easier to believe your character is actually real. Backgrounds can provide an interesting past of your character.

STEP 11: BE SURE YOU'VE READ OVER THE SITE!!!
While you've gotten all the information you need to make a character here, that doesn't mean you're prepared for playing. You must know the rules on the site. Other players do not have fun playing with ignorant people who are unaware that they "couldn't do that" or "accidentally broke a rule". You won't have fun either if you're clueless as to what you can and can't do. Do everyone a favor and read over the site.

STEP 12: SUBMIT YOUR CHARACTER
Once your character is completed, submit it to [email protected]. Be sure to include everything. If it's in an easy-to-read format, chances are it'll be looked over more quickly.

STEP 13: WAIT FOR REPLY
After submitting a player, you CANNOT start playing. A password is needed to post at the board, which you will receive in my responding e-mail. In your time waiting, it's advisable to look over the site again.

STEP 14: BEGIN PLAYING
Now you're ready to play. Come on it, the water's fine! But be sure to read the last two things below first.

THINGS YOUR CHARACTER BEGINS WITH
While your character certainly does not begin with a lot, there are a few basic possesions you'll start out with (in addition to the Weapon and Item you chose earlier). You will begin with 150 rupees, a tent for sleeping in, basic clothes (these are not good-looking) and any other possesions that may be significant to your character (they can't have any purpose; for example, a shiny stone you found when you were 10).

NOTABLE THINGS TO REMEMBER
Here are a few things to remember about your character.

1. Your character is probably only familiar with your territory. Traveling to another territory is not just a trip down to the shop, it could be a big event. Take "vacations" places and visit others; have fun.

2. It takes 5 minutes real-time to cross Termina Field. If you're on Horseback or are rolling, it takes 2 minutes.

3. Remember to create those stories! Big or little, stories are what make the MMRPG more fun.

4. Can't think of anything else for now. Make up your own #4.
