How, why & when did you begin designing?
I began designing about 2 years ago from need. I was looking for certain patterns for things, mainly fridgies, and I couldn't find anything even close to what I wanted. So, out of desperation I began my design career.
What types of things do you design?
Mainly what I design is fridgies and kitchen things. These are my favorite things to crochet, so it only seems natural<G>
What has been your most favorite type of crochet/design work?
Designing the different fridgies has been the most fun. Its exciting to me to see the different "creatures" emerge from just some yarn/thread, a hook, and a little imagination.
What motivates you to design?
Frustration, mostly. I get so frustrated trying to find patterns of things I like/want to make. So when I can't find the patterns, I just sit down and make what I want.
What do you feel is your greatest achievement thus far?
Hmm.. good question. Probably the actual reality that I *can* design LOL I was always one of those that thought I never could do something like designing.... until I actually sat down and did it.
Where do you see your designing going?
There's really not much telling where I am headed with designing.. I love all aspects of it.. so I am just as apt to turn one way with it, as another.
Do you have avenues which you would like to explore craft wise?
Well, I love trying new things. I've done so many things craftwise (i.e. plastic canvas, cross-stitch, quilting, sewing, painting, woodworking, bead work, floral preservation, design, arranging..etc) You name it and I've probably tried it at least once.. if not numerous times. So yes, I do have avenues to explore.... ALL of them <G>!
How do you think the internet has affected your designing efforts?
I think my want/drive to design has increased in respect to having access to the internet. I find myself designing things that I probably wouldn't have normally, simply because I haven't seen anyone else design them, and I love to share, so the internet provides a wonderful place for me to do that.
How do you see the internet in your designing future?
The internet will be a big part of my designing future, because it provides me a place where I can share the gift God has given me, with others. I have hopes to build a wonderful web site in the years to come, that many will enjoy (I hope).. Thank you!
