Haunting Advice

Lucky stood on the docks and stared at Spoon Island. His emotions were raging inside him. He didn't know what to think anymore about anything. Nikolas had betrayed him. If he couldn't trust his own brother, then who could he trust?

"It's over, Brother," he spat. "No more."

"Now don't say that, Kid" a man's  voice said from behind him. "Sometimes it really happens."

Lucky whirled around. "And how exactly would you know?"

"I've been there," the stranger said stepping beside Lucky on the docks. His face was covered by the brim of his hat. He was wearing a black trenchcoat. Lucky thought that he looked familiar.

"Really?" Lucky asked sarcastically. "And that makes you an expert?"

"No, but it gives me something to talk about in situations like this." He leaned against the lightpole with his hands in his pockets, looking at the ground.

Lucky rolled his eyes.

"Now don't you start getting smart with me Kid, I know more about you than you think."

Lucky jumped slightly. 'How could he have seen that? His eyes were to the ground.' Questions were filling his mind.

"It took me and my brother almost twenty years to actually have a conversation without trying to kill each other." The man continued, chuckling slightly. "We were both very stubborn men."

"And how does your history with your brother apply to my problems with my brother?"

"It's simple. My brother lied to me, yours lied to you."
"How do you know about that?" Lucky asked.

"I know a lot about everything, Kid."

Lucky continued to look at him, confused. The man seemed so familiar, but he couldn't place him.

"I've been around this town for a long time, most of my life," the stranger continued. "Nothing ever stays the same. A little piece of advice Kid, don't wake up in ten years and realize that you need your brother's help, he might not be there to give it."

The man turned to walk away, but Lucky's voice stopped him. "How are things with your brother?"

"Wouldn't know, I haven't seen him in ten years."

Lucky's brow furrowed in confusion. "Who are you?"

The man gave him a lopsided grin. "Just call me Scorpio." He gave another small chuckle and walked away.

Lucky stared at the man who walked away from him. A slight smile crossing his lips.

The End...
