Biography and background-info throughout the years..

1962  Stephen Robert Irwin was born 

1964 Terri Raines was born

1970 Steve's parents Bob and Lyn Irwin started a small zoo called The Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park

1971 At the tender age of nine, Steve's dad already had him jumpin' crocs. A skill he's world reknowned for today

1973 In april of this year the doors of The Australia Zoo opened to the public

1991 Bob and Lyn Irwin retired and made Steve the new director of Australia Zoo. A friend of Steve John Stainton recorded a TV-commercial at the zoo. Because of it's succes automatically the fabulous idea came to their minds to create TV-series. In this year Terri Raines came to visit Australia Zoo with a friend. It was love at first sight and a couple of months later they married..

1992 June 4th of this year was the day Steve and Terri got married. In this same year the first episode of "the Crocodile Hunter" was recorded. In total they recorded 50 episodes of "the Crocodile Hunter" and 52 episodes of "Crocfiles"

1998 July 24th of this year Bindi Sue Irwin was born. She was named after a crocodile named Bindi and their dog wonder from down under Sui. Bindi travels all the world with her parents.  

Steve and Terri are on a mission to educate and convince people that man can live alongside dangerous animals. They wear no protective clothing and are more concerned about the animals' safety than their own.
