Hvar is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea, located off the Dalmatian coast. The island's length, east to west, measures approximately 80 km.
Hvar is separated from the island of Bra� by the Hvar Channel (Hvarski kanal), from Vis by the Vis Channel, from Kor�ula by the Kor�ula Channel, from Pelje�ac by the Neretva Channel, while the east cape of the island is located just three nautical miles away from the mainland.

Residents of Hvar mostly work in the fishing and tourism industries. Hvar has a very mild Mediterranean climate, beautiful beaches and Mediterranean vegetation that make it one of the most attractive tourist centers in Europe. The island promotes itself as "the sunniest spot in Europe," with 2715 hours of sunlight in an average year.

Bra� is an island in the Adriatic Sea within Croatia, with an area of 396 km?, making it the third largest island in the Adriatic, and thus the largest in Dalmatia. Its tallest peak, Vidova Gora, or Mount St. Vid, stands at 778 m, making it the highest island point in the Adriatic. The island has a population of 13,000, living in numerous little towns, ranging from the 'main town' Supetar, with more than 3,500 inhabitants, to Novo Selo, where only a dozen people live.
The economy of Bra� is based mostly on tourism, but fishing and agriculture (especially wine and olives) are very important too, as is its precious white stone (which was used in building Diocletian's Palace in Split) and White House in Washington, D.C..
Kor�ula is an island in the Adriatic Sea, in the Dubrovnik-Neretva county of Croatia. The island has an area of 279 km? � it is 46.8 km long and on average 7.8 km wide � and lies just off the Dalmatian coast. Its 16,138 (2001) inhabitants make it the second most populous Adriatic island after Krk.
The island of Kor�ula belongs to the central Dalmatian archipelago, separated from the Pelje�ac peninsula by a narrow strait of Pelje�ac, between 900 and 3,000 meters wide . It is the sixth largest Adriatic island with a rather indented coast.
