CEP2.0 was used to align & synch SBD & AUD sources. Soundforge 8.0 was used to repair many level issues an pops in track 6. CEP2.0 used to adjust the volume. Multitrack mixdown was performed using CEP2.0. This is a 60% SBD, 40% AUD mix. - Mixed by dan@am-dig.com - FLAC conversion done 12-SEP-2005 - Artwork by dan@am-dig.com 300dpi - For besst results print at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper. Design for use with a clear single double jewel case. ---------------------------------------------------------- Notes The SBD was recorded a bit low. I raised the volume approx 2 db. The levels on the AUD were left untouched. d1t01 Approx 1:40 into the SBD the original levels get real hot and it had some effect, although minor, on the sound. This lasts for approx 2 minutes. You'll hear things become a bit clearer after the levels settle. When mixed with the AUD that issue isn't noticeable at all. d1t06 Flaws in "Blood of Eden" 32:17.433 - 32:45.681 I did my best to fix or seamlessly edit. There were 3 several second channel reductions on the right channel. I boosted the levels but this created a small pop (sorta) on each end. I was able to erase with pencil tool or channel swap and make the edit. I think as it is smooth and most likely undetectable. Definitely cannot be heard in the matrix mix. d1t08 Both sources were missing an unknown amount of crowd cheer between the last song and the encore. The sources were trimmed to match and a crossfade was applied. It sounds like a real short encore break. This is smooth and most likely undetectable. Just as Peter Gabriel walks off for the encore break if you turn up the volume you can hear him talking to two folks backstage (see notes for transcript). I raised the levels +10db on that spot and applied some gradually soft fads on each end to make the increase in volume undetectable. I thought it would be nice to hear the conversation. The AUD taper found a quiet place to make this recording or the crowd was pretty chill around him. A great tape. For a 5.1 or matrix mixes it can be nice to have some more crowd to spice up the SBD. SBD source was from an old DAT tape I got 10 years ago or more. I was able to compare this to another SBD copy I download as FLAC. It also had the same tack 6 issues and I thought my DAT was, well a tiny bit better. I had it for so long I just knew and trusted it. Great sound. ---------------------------------------------------------- Note Of Interest d1t07 "Solsbury Hill" is stopped midway while Peter Gabriel address some ruckus in the crowd. No, I cannot describe the ruckus but the songs picks back up where they left off. Very cool and unique because of the break. Well, this gets really interesting because as Peter walks off for the encore he speaks with two people about the ruckus. Transcript: Person 1 talks to Gabriel "That guy was taken away to the Police." Peter Gabriel responds "Sorry?" (he didn't hear him) Person 1 repeats himself "That guy who was interrupting was taken away...." Peter Gabriel Interrupts "Oh, I think, I thought they took the wrong guy." Person 2 "Hey?" A second or so more of inaudible Person 2 and then it cuts and where my crossfade starts to keep the flow. ---------------------------------------------------------- Additional Formats This show is available in the following formats: 1.
