Is Salt Lake County's rate 50% higher than the national average?
While this may have been true at some point in the past, it is not true today. While Salt Lake County's rate is usually somewhat higher the national average, the difference is much less than 50%. Figure 1 shows the divorce rates for Salt Lake County and the United States. Rates are the number of divorces and annulments per 1,000 residents.
