| The Fast and The Furious Rated: Pg-13 Starring: Paul Walker, Vin Diesel Genre: Action Released: 2001 Length: 107 min One of the biggest blockbusters of 2001, it took me close to a year until after it was first released to finally borrow it from a friend and watch it; now I realize why I was so hesitant to do so. The Fast and The Furious is the perfect example of how mindless movies have gotten. Vin Diesel, a man I respect and admire, is mediocre at best. Paul Walker is simply horrible as the young detective who goes undercover to find a group of highway bandits. The script is shallow and weak, something a monkey on heroin could have written. I was not drawn by any of the characters, the action was simplistic and unimpressive, the romance angle was completely forgotten, and lets see... oh yeah the whole car stunt/car trick scenes... yawn. Id almost rather be watching NASCAR. My IQ lowered ten points after I saw this movie. I give it: 2 stars |
