| Sexy Beast Rated: R Starring: Ben Kingsley Genre: Drama Released: 2002 Length: 89 minutes Ben Kingsley is nothing short of riveting in this remarkable movie about a psychotic criminal who travels to spain in his attempt to recruit a retired, midlevel gangster for one last job. The movie is pure psychological as Kingsley will not take "no" for an answer. The man literally oozes evil. One minute he's making everyone in the room sweat and squirm with his long bouts of silence and rock-hard stares. The next minute profanity, and childish actions (repetion of the phrase "Do the job!" and "You will!", pissing on the carpet, etc.) cause his hosts to draw back in fear. Simply put, Kingsley makes this movie great. If you are into the new-school style of criminal movies (i.e. Pulp Fiction, Snatch) then you will get a big kick out of this one. I give it: 3 1/2 stars |
