| PEARL HARBOR Rated: PG-13 Starring: Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett Genre: Drama Released: 2001 Length: 183 minutes Pearl Harbor is a confusing, and quite bizzare movie that is extremely hard to rate. The love story seems to be the main focus of the story, with the actual Pearl Harbor incident taking a back seat. Although, thats arguable. The Pearl Harbor scenes are nothing short of magnificent. They are emotionally moving and visually riveting. Simply put, these scenes are among the best of the best. Its the rest of the movie that really had me scratching my head. The love triangle was odd to say the least. Normally I would applaud the makers of this movie for trying something different... but in this case, I think they would have been better going with a simpler love story that took up less time. Still, the movie does get you thinking. All in all, its a really good movie, but not one that everyone would enjoy. I give it: 4 stars |
