Nifelheim

The first thing I have to say is that the spirit of Euronymous lives on in this cold, grim dungeon music. This sounds like it could have been the next album after �De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas� by Mayhem except that Tyrant is probably more adept at guitar than Euronymous was. Therefore, Nifelheim fits in the category of Black Metal that doesn�t progress or change. They focus on fast guitar riffing, single note playing, dungeon vocals, and evil imagery. In a word, primitive. Fans of Judas Iscariot, Immortal, and all primal, non-progressive Black Metal bands will find �Servants of Darkness� to be a very satisfying album.
