Plot: Charlie (Jim Carrey) is a police officer who's wife has left him, leaving him with there three children.  The children are African American, and since neither Chalrie nor his wife are black we understand his wife had an affair.  Charlie is in denial though, and maintains his qualities as a good father to his sons who happen to be brilliant.  As he becomes weaker mentally though, his job suffers, and he is not respected.  Thus, he manufactures a split personality (yes, I know this is not exactly what happens in real life, nor is any of the events that take place because of that) named Hank who is mean, but stands up for himself.  He is asked to take a suspect (Renee Zellweger), to New York.  However, it seems her last boyfriend was involved in organized crime and wants to shut her up.  To further confuse things Charlie and Hank fall in love with her.

Critique: Me, Myself, and Irene is simply Jim Carrey's worst film.  The first half an hour or so is not so bad, and there are some jokes that hit.  It gets gradually less funny as the film progresses.  Jim Carrey is has quite a talent cannot even save this trash.  The Farrelly brothers did a terrible job, and the script is sappy and dull.
The acting is low quality even though Renee Zellweger, and Robert Forster are also good actors.  In the film, Zellweger is average, Forster is terrible, and the rest of the supporting cast is unconvincing and even annoying.  The young man named "Whitie," that follows them around, as well as Charlie's three children, provid enothing positive.  Whitie is annoying, and Charlie's three children are never funny, and sure swear a lot for brilliant men.  In fact, the three children's characters are racist stereotypes.  Another racist thing is that Charlie's wife who left him for an African American midget doesn't take the children with her.  The black father is irresponsible, while Charlie is a brilliant father.  If that's not racist I don't know what is.  The whole dialogue may offend people, but that did not really bother me.  Although I can respect those who would be offended by some of the nonsense that goes on, I was mostly bothered by the fact that most of the jokes were weak.
In conclusion, Me, Myself, and Irene is a terrible film.  It started off funny, then became boring, sappy, and not even comical.  The jokes are terrible, and not funny, even if the beginning struck a few right notes.  Jim Carrey who is very talented, should be ashamed he wasted himself on such a bad film.
